Hai   Vergrösserung der Funkenstrecke wird die Spannung im Netz höher steigen, als die ursprüngliche Einstellung der Funkenstrecke zulassen sollte und wird die Anlage gefährden. Im anderen Falle (bei einer   Verkürzung   der Funkenstrecke) wird ein dauerndes Arbeiten derselben   mit der Betrifbs-Spalinung der Anlage   stattfinden. 



   Diese Übelstände weden durch vorliegende Erfindugn beseitigt, welche die Anwendung kastenförmig aus Blech oder dünnem (russ hergestellter Elektroden zum Gegenstand hat. 



   Fig. 1 zeigt die Vorder-, Fig. 2 die Seitenansicht einer solchen Funkenstrecke A mit den Elektroden E ;   it,   ist der Erregerwiderstand und W der Vorschalt-Widerstand der Funkenstrecke. 



   Da jede Elektrode zwei Seitenplatten hat, deren jede wiederum zwei Abkühlungflachen besitzt, so sind an jeder Elektrode vier   Abklihlungsflächen   vorhanden, welche die
Wärmt'an die umgebende Luft abgeben. 



   Durch die   kastenförmige Ausbildung   der Elektroden wird ferner ein lebhafter Luftwechsel in dem durch die beiden Wändo gebildeten   Hohlraume und eine   vergrösserte Abgabe der Warme an die Luft erzielt. Zugleich mit diesen Eigenschaften verbindet die vorliegende Konstruktion noch Leichtigkeit bei sehr grosser   Stabilität.
