Die Ausführung des Verfahrens wird durch die Fig. 1 und 2 der beiliegenden Zeichnung erläutert. In derselben bezeichnen a die mit dem Brenngut gefüllten, zu Stössen übereinander geschichteten Kapseln, b ist die Brennkammer eines Gasofens, in welcher die Kapselstösse reihenweise aufgestellt sind. Die Flammengase treten aus den vier in den Ecken befindlichen Feuer- schächten c aus, steigen zunächst senkrecht in die Höhe, wo sie in dem freien Raum unter der Decke expandieren, um dann parallel zur Längsachse der aus den einzelnen Kapseln a gebildeten Kapselstösse zu den im Boden befindlichen Abzugslöchern d zu gelangen.
Die Beheizung erfolgt diskontinuierlich, d. h. so, dass eine frisch eingesetzte Kammer zunächst langsam auf die nötige Temperatur angeheizt und dann bis zur Beendigung der Reaktion auf dieser Temperatur erhalten wird, worauf man die Kammer abkühlen lässt und die einzelnen Kapseln entleert.
Die Befeuerung des Gasofens kann selbstverständlich auch in umgekehrter Richtung mit Sohlfeuer erfolgen, derart, dass die F1ammengase aus den im Boden befindlichen Öffnungen d austreten, zwischen den Kapselstössen parallel zur Längsachse derselben in die Höhe steigen und durch die Abzüge c austreten.
