Method for applying a cellulose film to a glass pane, in particular of a motor vehicle
The invention relates to a method for applying a cell glass film to a pane of glass, in particular of a motor vehicle, in which the cell glass film by means of an adhesive applied to its entire surface, e.g. B. gum arabic, is connected to the glass pane.
Transparent sheets for sticking glass panes for the purpose of keeping them transparent are known; the transparent film made of a water-absorbing material is bonded to the pane by means of adhesive. The service life of a pane treated in this way is short, however, as the film soon detaches itself from the pane due to the influence of air humidity.
To eliminate this disadvantage, the method according to the invention is that the cellulose film is cut larger on all sides than the pane and is folded over and glued over the edges of the pane with its areas protruding from the pane, after which the edge area of the pane is additionally secured by a rubber or metal frame becomes. In this way, a pane with a long service life is obtained, in which the cell glass film does not become detached and in which it is prevented from breaking into splinters even if it is destroyed by impact.
An example embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to the drawing, in which a cross section through the edge region of the disk is shown schematically.
First of all, a blank - 2 - made of cellulose film is prepared for the pane - 1 - which is larger on all sides than the pane. Then this cellulose film-2-is provided with an adhesive application-3-over the whole area, e.g. B. made of gum arabic, whereupon the film --2-- is placed close to the pane -l- and with its areas --4-- protruding over the edges of the pane -l, folded around it and also glued along the pane edge area; A frame --5 - with a U-profile, e.g. B. made of metal or rubber, possibly also plastic attached.
Even if the cellulose film were to be destroyed in the event of improper treatment of the glass pane treated according to the invention, no disadvantages arise from this, apart from the loss of transparency.
The grease-repellent property of the cellulose film also enables easier cleaning than an untreated pane.
