Apparatus for electrotherapy
The invention relates to a device which is particularly intended for influencing the nerve centers, with double impulses with direct current superimposition being used.
A number of apparatuses are known for influencing neurogenic processes. Lots of these
Devices still work with electron tubes, other devices are simple impulse arrangements that influence nerve activity through simple impulses. Arrangements with noise sources are also known.
Equally, devices with interference currents are used to attempt to apply such stimuli to the nervous system.
According to recent research, double impulses seem to have the highest stimulus intensity.
In many cases, these previously known arrangements also have a superimposed direct current, which can usually be regulated separately. Some of the known arrangements also have a constant current output.
The object of the invention is to create a transistorized device for generating such double pulses, wherein the pulse width and the phase width can be controlled independently of each other at the same time, and the pause width can also be rhythmically frequency modulated by an additional pulse generator.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that the collectors of the two transistors of an astable multivibrator are connected to a control electrode of a monostable multivibrator via differentiators and these downstream diodes, the base of one transistor of the astable multivibrator being connected to the supply voltage via a control resistor and this base of one transistor of the astable multivibrator is connected to the collector of the transistor of a second astable multivibrator via coupling elements and the frequency-modulated double pulse produced in the monostable multivibrator is fed via a control resistor to the wiper of a potentiometer connected to the supply voltage, which wiper is at the base of a final transistor,
in whose collector circuit the patient is located and in whose emitter circuit there is a current control potentiometer.
This combination of known arrangements creates a double pulse with a stable distance, the distance between the double pulses can be regulated, u. between 1 Hz and 300 MHz can be covered with a single potentiometer without switching. This frequency sequence is also frequency-modulated by the coupling of the third astable multivibrator, i. In other words, the pulse spacing fluctuates rhythmically according to the frequency of the astable multivibrator.
Due to the DC-loaded potentiometer coupling-4-to the output stage, the output stage carries a direct current that is always in a certain ratio to the total pulse height.
The technical advantage is that you can read both the peak pulse height and the direct current height in the patient circle at the same time on a scale with a normal direct current milliammeter, since the direct current deflection of the measuring instrument with sufficiently narrow pulses is only proportional to the direct current flowing through and due to the constant ratio between the direct current component and pulse peak current level must also be proportional to the peak current level of the pulse currents.

The current regulator in the emitter circuit of the output transistor causes a large current negative feedback with small currents corresponding to the higher patient resistances and with large currents
With currents and small patient resistances, a smaller current negative feedback prevails, so that the resulting negative current feedback depends on the level of the patient current and thus a current control is created that takes into account excessive patient resistances and thus avoids burns, which are primarily caused by excessive patient resistances. The negative feedback thus only acts up to a maximum upper limit of the patient resistance, with higher regulation being achieved at the same time in the area of smaller patient flows.
According to the invention, the frequency of the second astable multivibrator causing the frequency modulation can be regulated. In addition, the coupling between the second multivibrator and the first astable multivibrator takes place via a variable low-pass filter, so that the speed of the pulse shift can also be varied.
It is scientifically proven that the nerve conduction takes place by means of pulse train modulation. That this happens in the form of an electrochemical or electrobiological form is due to the nature of the biological components. It is also certain that double impulses play a role in nerve conduction, with the first impulse causing the next switching stage to respond, while the second impulse is responsible for switching.
This explains the greater sensitivity of the nervous system to double impulses with the same width and height compared to single impulses.
According to the invention, the first astable multivibrator can therefore be controlled by externally supplied currents, these control currents either being stored on tape or generated by generators or being taken directly from the biological object.
The arrangement is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment, u. between Fig. 1 shows the first astable multivibrator - 1 - with a control resistor - 12 - for pause control. - 2 - are differentiators, which both the rising and the falling edge of the astable multivibrator - l - deliver excited pulses to control the monostable multivibrator - 3.
