Axial center fixing of the short-circuit rods on the laminated core of squirrel-cage rotors
In the case of squirrel cage rotors, the squirrel cage bars may crack or break off completely at the point where they are hard-soldered to the short-circuit ring. In many cases, the cause, in addition to vibration fractures, is the uneven thermal expansion of the short-circuit rods in the axial direction. As is well known, these differential thermal expansions can arise when the individual rods stick to one another differently (seize). If z.
B. one rod seizes in the first third, the neighboring rod in the third third of its length, the next in the middle, etc., it is obvious that the rods expand differently from the different clamping points to the short-circuit rings, which causes stress on the rods and the short-circuit rings leads. The weld or solder point on the short-circuit ring is the most endangered part.
The aim is therefore to fix the short-circuit rods axially in the middle of the laminated core so that the thermal expansion of the rods has an exactly uniform effect on both sides and differential thermal expansion is avoided.
In the case of smaller squirrel cage motors, this is achieved by fixing the short-circuit rods in the middle of the laminated core with a special welding electrode by welding them to the laminated core. A special welding electrode is required because normal copper or brass, bronze or other alloys as cage material have to be welded to dynamo sheet.
For larger machines or machines where welding is not possible or only possible to a limited extent, e.g. B. where, due to the electrical design, the bars are often inserted very deep into the laminated core (the lower bar in the case of double groove runners), the invention proposes an exact local axial center fixing of the short-circuit bars on the sheet-metal core of squirrel cage runners by placing the short-circuit bars in the middle of them axial longitudinal extension are provided with one or more disk-shaped millings, the axial dimension of which is at least equal to the width of the ventilation slots of the rotor core and the remaining two side edges, caulked by a suitable tool, are bent out on both sides in one or more ventilation slots.
According to a further proposal of the invention, the disk-shaped milled recess can have the shape of a segment of a circle.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the rotor core, FIG. 2a the rotor bar with the associated cross section, FIGS. 2b and 3 a plan view of a caulked rotor bar in the rotor core.
The laminated rotor core is designated with - l -, the rotor rod with - 2--, the disc-shaped milled recess with - 3 - and the ventilation slots with - 4--.
The reduction in cross-section of the rotor bar by the milling is not significant, since it is only a small percentage in the width, height and length of the rotor bar, so that none

significant mechanical weakening occurs.
The advantage of the fixation according to the invention is that it represents both a simple and a secure solution and can also be carried out well in terms of work technology, since the caulking can be easily accomplished with a simple tool.
