airtight seal is destroyed at this point, according to the invention, a line leading to a vacuum pump is connected to the hood. According to the invention, the measure to better maintain the airtight seal also serves that the base is penetrated by a condensation drainage pipe, the end of this pipe located in the interior being covered by a perforated shield.
Further features and advantages of the invention emerge from the following description of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a filled silo according to the invention from the outside and FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the silo according to FIG.
The hood 1 covers the heap of feed 2, which rests on the insulating base 3, which in turn is provided with the condensation water line 4. The opening leading to the condensation water line 4 is covered by a perforated shield 5 against the heap of feed. The edge 10 of the base 3 projects beyond the lower edge of the hood 1, against which the edge 10 of the base 3 is pressed by an externally piled earth wall 6. A vacuum pump 9 is provided for the purpose of compressing the heap of feed through the external pressure. The shape of the hood, but also of the base, the ventilation system and the type of peripheral closure of the silo on its underside can be modified in various ways without going beyond the scope of the invention.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Feed silo in which a heap of feed lying on a base is completely covered by a hood, the base and the hood being made of thermoplastic plastic film and the interior enclosed by the base and the hood being evacuated, characterized in that the Base (3) protrudes along its entire circumference over the hood (1) and this protruding edge (10) forms an airtight seal that is airtight against the wall of the hood when the interior is evacuated by air pressure.
