Description

  Schweisselektrode

  Welding electrode
According to an older proposal that does not belong to the state of the art, the use of a welding electrode with a core wire of 0.05-0.21a C (especially 0.05-0.12% C), 14-22% Cr (especially 16- 19% Cr), 78-86% Fe (in particular 81-84% Fe) and of all other elements, especially the stabilizing elements such as titanium and niobium, only contains proportions in the amount of normal impurities, for producing weld seams that are resistant to grain decay Arc welding processes without protective gas or under monatomic protective gases are known.

It has now been found that the electrodes described can be used successfully not only for welding without protective gas or under monatomic protective gases, but also for protective gas welding with mixed gases such as argon + cl + 02 or pure CO, or H, 0, and for all other fusion welding processes with filler metal.

In these cases, too, the result was a healthy, crack-free weld seam, provided the electrodes were used in an unstabilized state.

The invention therefore relates to the use of a welding electrode, its core wire
 EMI1.1
such as titanium and niobium, only contains proportions equal to the normal impurities, for producing weld seams that are resistant to grain decay using the arc welding process under mixed gases such as argon + CO2 + 02 or under CO2 or H20, as well as for all fusion welding processes with filler material with the exception of arc welding without shielding gas or under monatomic protective gases.
