Process for the production of high-gloss aluminum or aluminum alloy moldings
The invention relates to a method for producing aluminum or aluminum alloy molded bodies such as sheet metal, strips, wires and the like. Like. Which are provided with high-gloss surfaces and for
Manufacture of high-gloss objects can be used and which are particularly suitable for decorative anodic oxidation.
For the production of objects with a decorative effect, the aluminum is often polished using chemical or electrochemical processes and then coated with an anodic cover layer. This process is called gloss anodizing or gloss anodizing.
The gloss and smoothness of the finished parts are greatly influenced by the structure of the aluminum. A heterogeneous structure, which, for example, contains compounds such as Al, Fe, Mg Si, etc. in addition to the aluminum mixed crystal, shows cloudy outer layers. A homogeneous structure, in which the admixtures and alloying elements are incorporated or "dissolved" in the aluminum lattice, is, on the other hand, very suitable for bright anodizing.
For the production of strips, sheets, wires, etc. Like. For bright anodizing, the procedure has hitherto been such that round bars were solution annealed. After an annealing period of about 10 hours, they were slowly cooled to room temperature, inductively heated to about 400 ° C., pressed into rails or pre-press wires and these preforms then rolled out into strips or drawn to their final thickness. This process is relatively laborious and leads to relatively high prices for semi-finished products.
It has now surprisingly been found that semi-finished products, such as sheets, strips, wires, etc., made of pure aluminum, pure aluminum and the alloys produced therefrom, with particularly good suitability for final treatment by chemical or electrochemical smoothing and high economic efficiency, can be produced by producing the cast bars quenching after the homogenization annealing (for example at 5800C) to about 5000C, subjecting it to a pre-deformation in the temperature range from about 500 to about 4200C, in particular rolling to blank thickness, and then quenching the preforms, such as blanks, pre-press wires or press profiles, to temperatures below about 2000C and from this after complete cooling by cold forming tapes, wires and the like. like. Manufactures.
A multi-stage process has already become known in which deformation takes place at temperatures above 3000C, after which the molded body is held at 3500C for recrystallization and finally in the cooled state at temperatures below 300C, preferably at 2000C. reaches its final deformation.
In contrast, the invention, which is based on completely different process stages, is based on the knowledge that it is possible to obtain high-gloss aluminum bodies by quickly overcoming certain temperature ranges (two-stage quenching process), with one. ge
