Device for automatic draft regulation on ovens
The invention relates to a device for automatic draft regulation in furnaces with a draft flap which is in mechanical operative connection with an actuating element which can be controlled electrically by a thermal control element.
In the known devices of the type mentioned, a motor-driven twin worm gear is used as the actuating element, which is rigidly connected to the pull flap. However, these facilities are relatively complicated and therefore quite prone to failure.
A device was also known with a draft regulator operated by an electromagnet, which is arranged in the form of a slide under the ash fall on the furnace floor and which requires a very special furnace construction with special ducts for the draft and is therefore not suitable for normal furnace constructions.
The aim of the invention is a device for automatic tension regulation of the type mentioned at the outset, which, however, is simpler and more economical than the known devices and by means of which damage to the actuating element can be avoided in the event of the tension flap becoming jammed.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the actuating member is designed as an electromagnet, the armature of which is elastically connected to the pull flap. According to one feature of the invention, a helical spring is provided for the elastic connection.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment, which is shown in the drawing partially in section, as a side view of an oven section with a pull flap and an actuator:
A pull flap 3 is mounted pivotably about a bearing pin 4 on an oven door 1 of an oven 2.
Preferably above the pull flap 3, an electromagnet 5 is arranged on the furnace door 1 at a distance from it, the armature 6 of which is connected to the pull flap 3 by a helical spring 7, if necessary via joints 8 and 9. The electromagnet 5 is also surrounded by a protective housing 10 which is screwed onto the furnace door 1, for example (not shown).
When the electromagnet 5, which can be an alternating current magnet or a direct current magnet, is excited, the armature 6 is attracted upwards, the pull flap 3 being pivoted about the bearing pin 4 into its open position, as indicated by the dash-dotted lines in the figure. The helical spring 7 is dimensioned in such a way that during the opening process there is no change in shape of the spring under tension. If, on the other hand, the pull flap 3 jams in such a way that the tensile force of the electromagnet is no longer sufficient to open the pull flap, the helical spring stretches enough to allow the armature to be fully tightened, thereby preventing the solenoid coils from burning.
When the electromagnet 5 is de-energized, the pull flap 3 falls back into its closed position due to its own weight, the armature 6 of the electromagnet moving back into its lowest extreme position.
For the electrical control of the electromagnet 5, a thermal control element, for example a boiler thermostat, is preferably used (not shown), which transmits electrical signals to the electromagnet depending on the control temperature, for example the temperature of the combustion gases in the furnace, which cause the draft flap to open It is automatically opened or closed according to requirements and thus regulates the supply of drafts.
