14 in etwa horizontaler Lage festhalten.

Instep straps on the tension cords of ski bindings
The invention relates to an instep strap on tension cords of ski bindings, which can be looped around the ski boot and attached to the binding cord on both sides of the boot sole by means of longitudinally displaceable sliding pieces.
With the known instep straps of this type, their attachment to the binding cord is usually of a type

can be.
The aim of the invention is therefore an instep strap which the skier can easily unhook from the binding cable without the aid of any workpieces and then hang it on again. This is achieved according to the invention in that the sliding pieces each consist of a tubular sleeve body which has a longitudinal slot extending over its entire length, the width of which is smaller than the diameter of the binding cable, but larger than the diameter of the inner cable rope exposed by the helical spring-shaped cable sheath .
Since the helical spring-shaped cable sheath can usually be pushed together by several centimeters in the longitudinal direction of the cable rope with modern binding cables, which exposes the inner cable rope, it is possible to slide the slider onto this exposed cable rope by means of its longitudinal slot and then the cable sheath to its starting position spring back. Since the diameter of this cable sheathing is greater than the width of the longitudinal slot in the sleeve body, undesired hanging of the instep strap with its sleeve body from the binding line is no longer possible.
The design of the instep strap according to the invention therefore enables the strap to be easily unhooked from the binding cable, which can be carried out by the skier himself in a few simple steps without the aid of any tools. In the instep strap according to the invention, it is not necessary to unhook or detach the binding cable from the binding pretensioner, which is usually necessary for the previously known instep strap with sliding pieces. Nevertheless, as long as its cable sheathing is not pushed together to partially expose the inner cable rope, it is captively attached to the binding cord.
Further details and advantages of the invention emerge from the following description of the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing: FIG. 1 shows a ski binding mounted on a ski in a broken representation with the instep strap according to the invention. 2 and 3 illustrate the fastening element for the instep strap with eyelet on the one cable part of the binding cord in a side view and in a top view of the belt. 4 and 5 show the other pulley eyes on the other cable part of the binding hoist in two different views. 6 illustrates, in an oblique view, a pull cable part of the binding cable with an exposed inner cable cable and a fastening element carrying an eyelet when hooking into the cable cable.
In Fig. 1 of the drawing the instep strap 1 is shown in a position that it assumes when it is looped once around the ankle part of a ski boot 3 sitting on the ski 2,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
'that the strap crosses in the rear area of the boot shaft. It is pivotably attached by means of a rivet 4 to the extension 5 of a sleeve-shaped slider 6, which is longitudinally displaceable on one cable part 7 of the binding train.
In order that the strap can be looped around the ski boot in the manner shown in FIG. 1, a sleeve-shaped slider 9 is also arranged longitudinally displaceably on the other cable part 8 of the binding train, which carries an attachment 10 which serves to support an eyelet 11. This eyelet consists of a rectangular bracket adapted to the cross-section of instep strap 1, which is articulated in a curl 12 at the attachment end. In the same way, a further eyelet 14 is hinged in a curl 13 at the upper end of the extension 5 of the slider 6 on the opposite cable part 7 of the binding train, which also consists of a rectangular bracket adapted to the cross section of the instep strap.
The instep strap 1 can, due to its given length, first be placed around the instep of the ski boot 3 and pulled through the eyelet 11. From this eyelet, it can be guided diagonally upwards to the rear area of the boot shaft and from there approximately horizontally once around the ankle part of the ski boot and then diagonally downwards and through the further eyelet 14 arranged on the cable part 7 used to fasten the start of the belt. The free end of the belt passed through this eyelet can then be attached to the beginning of the belt extending from the slider 6.
For this purpose the instep strap 1 carries a known fastening pin 15 on a metal plate 17 near its beginning of the strap, which is linked to the slider 6, onto which the free end of the strap, which is returned like a pulley block via the eyelet 9, can be attached by means of its slot-shaped holes 16.
The sliding pieces 6 and 9 are designed as tubular sleeves encompassing the pull cables 7, 8, which are produced by correspondingly bending a flat piece of metal. The tubular sleeves, however, are so wide open over their entire length. that between the two ends of the bend they have a slot 18 which is of such a width that the binding cable cannot normally pass through the slot out of the sleeve. On the other hand, however, the width of the slot is greater than the diameter of the inner cable rope 19 of the binding line, which is surrounded by the helical-spring-shaped cable sheathing 20.
This makes it possible to remove the sliders from the pulley and, on the other hand, to apply them again to the pulley, u. between. At a point at which the inner cable 19 has been exposed by the resilient cable sheath 20 by pushing them together (Fig. 6).
After the cable sheathing has been moved back onto the exposed inner cable rope 19, an independent loosening of the slider attached to the binding cable is excluded.
In order to prevent the eyelet bracket 14 or 11 from folding down until it rests against the attachment 5 or 10 of the sliding piece 6 or 9, projections 21 are provided on the attachments, which serve as stops and the eyelet brackets 11 and 14 approximately hold in a horizontal position. The stops 21 make it much easier to push the instep strap through the eyelet.
