Circuit arrangement for distance protection devices in rigidly earthed networks Fast-acting distance protection devices for rigidly earthed three-phase networks of the so-called three-relay circuit comprise three distance measuring elements, one per conductor. In undisturbed network operation, the measuring elements are usually connected to monitor the loops made up of conductor and earth, which they measure in the event of single-pole errors. When the rarer multipole faults occur, especially those without earth involvement, they switch to several phases as a result of the expansion of the fault, i.e. H. as a result of the practically simultaneous response of the excitation elements of at least two conductors to linked measured values and measure the loop from conductor to conductor.
With regard to the reliability of the response, overcurrent excitation, which, due to the special current distribution, cannot always act selectively in the case of single-pole interference, is of less importance than underimpedance excitation, which, however, involves greater effort.
If, in a known manner, a number of excitation elements corresponding to the number of phases is used exclusively for monitoring the measured phase values, the excitation elements respond in a highly sensitive manner only in the event of network faults with earth involvement. In the case of two-pole and multi-pole faults without earth involvement, however, the response sensitivity is lower. This deficiency could be counteracted by installing a second set of excitation elements for monitoring the chained measured values. However, this measure would disadvantageously increase the cost of components.
It is therefore accepted that for the rarer cases of multipole faults without earth involvement, the excitation elements connected between conductor and earth will respond with less sensitivity. With this type of error, the phase voltages of the faulty conductors can drop unevenly, so that the excitation conditions for the involved excitation elements are different. Solely one of the two excitation elements lying in the error loop is possible, so that the distance relay is simulated a single-pole error because the switchover to the chained measured values, which is necessary for a distance-accurate measurement of the error loop, is omitted.
This uncertainty of the response behavior becomes even more unfavorable if angle-dependent underimpedance excitation elements are used to increase the overload capacity of the line. which are much more sensitive to strongly inductive residual currents than to weakly inductive load currents.
In the case of a two-pole fault, the voltages monitored by the excitation elements involved differ from one another not only with regard to the level but also with regard to the phase angle. The response behavior is therefore even more different and the risk of single-pole excitation in the case of two-pole faults is increased.
The invention avoids this disadvantage in that, in the case of single-pole excitation, in addition to the measurement of the loop between the exciting conductor and earth taking place in a manner known per se on one of the distance measuring elements, the measurement of one or more loops between the exciting and possibly involved conductors by means of switching over a or several further "distance measuring elements" assigned to the non-stimulating conductors, although the switchover to measuring loops made up of two conductors can be omitted if a total current flows.
According to the invention, in addition to the possibly faulty loop between conductor and earth, at least one further loop from conductor to conductor is generally queried. The additional training

two auxiliary contacts each. The distance contact d-is controlled by the make contact br of the auxiliary relay Br (FIG. 2) and the make contact brus of the auxiliary relay Brs (FIG. 2). Both working contacts are connected in parallel. In a corresponding manner, the auxiliary contacts bs and bst query the distance contact ds in parallel, and the normally open contacts bt and btr query the distance contact dt.
If the query of the contacts dr dg, dt results in an affirmative, then due to the mixed parallel and series
EMI3.1
furthermore one contact of an associated energy directing element can be arranged.
The mode of operation of the exemplary embodiment of the invention constructed in the above sense is as follows:
In the case of single-pole faults (e.g. earth fault of conductor S), the contact speaks e.g. of the excitation element belonging to the diseased conductor and actuates the auxiliary relay Bs, which does not trigger any switchover, but merely projects the position of the contact d belonging to the distance measuring element S by means of the contact bs according to FIG. Of course, the auxiliary relay Bs can have other functions to carry out by means of further contacts, not shown, but these do not concern the invention.
The measuring element S measures the error between the terminals v and e after the excitation by the underimpedance excitation element, which is not explained here, and finally initiates the actuation of the distance contact dg, so that the auxiliary trip relay As responds in the circuit closed via the contact bg. The disconnection of the circuit breaker controlled by this auxiliary relay is the result and the diseased line section of the disturbed phase is cut off. Since the summation circuit of the three-phase system carries overcurrent with the assumed single-pole earth fault, the above-described processes take place when the normally closed contact b is open and the auxiliary relay Brs remains unexcited. Accordingly, the measuring circuit is not switched over at any of the measuring elements R, S, T according to FIG.
In the case of single-pole faults, depending on the stimulation in one of the three phases, the responsible measuring element monitors the loop from the affected conductor to earth.
In the event of two-pole short-circuits without earth involvement and with a sufficiently high short-circuit current, the underimpedance excitation elements of the two conductors concerned respond. The sum current contact

accordingly, the loop between the conductor R and the conductor S properly. When the measuring element responds, the circuit breaker responsible is finally brought to drop through the auxiliary tripping relay Ar. In addition, the measuring element T is connected to the linked voltage between the terminals w and u. However, this switchover has no effect, because this loop of the system is healthy and a higher impedance is measured on it than on the measuring element R. There is therefore no overlap in time.
In the case of the same two-pole fault between the conductors Rund S, with a relatively small short-circuit current it can happen that only one of the two excitation elements responds. In the present exemplary embodiment, it is assumed that, due to the special characteristics of the underimpedance excitation elements, the excitation element of the conductor S which is lagging in the phase sequence is more sensitive than that of the conductor R and thus responds alone. Since there is also no total current flowing, and therefore
EMI3.3
Auxiliary relay Bs as well as a current to flow in the auxiliary relay Brs, so that both respond. Depending on the fault, the measuring element R is connected to the disrupted, linked voltage between the terminals u - v, although there is only a single-pole pickup.
The measuring element R will therefore measure correctly and trigger by means of the auxiliary trigger relay Ar. The distance contact d of the measuring element S, which is simultaneously queried by the contact according to FIG. 3, does not lead to any triggering, because the voltage between the conductor and the earth on this measuring element is healthy and staggered accordingly. In the case of two-pole faults with a low short-circuit current, a distance relay is switched from conductor to conductor to the possibly faulty loop as a precaution in the embodiment of the invention discussed, even with only single-pole excitation.
The fault is therefore advantageously not only sought between the affected conductor and earth. '
If, in contrast to the above exemplary embodiment, the characteristics of the excitation elements used indicate that, in the event of a two-pole fault, the excitation element of the conductor leading in the phase sequence responds with priority, then, according to the teaching of the invention, a suitable circuit can easily be set up that meets the changed requirements . With only single-pole excitation, for example by means of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
of the excitation element belonging to the conductor S, the loop from conductor S to conductor T is then measured as a precaution against the loop from conductor R to conductor S according to the above embodiment.
Under certain circumstances it is possible to dispense with checking the total current, whereby the contact

s according to Fig, an expedient further development of the circuit according to Figs. 1-3 also possible, with only single-pole excitation, to include all three measuring elements of a three-relay circuit in the distance measurement in such a way that the first monitors the loop from the exciting conductor to earth, while the second and third measuring element are switched to the two remaining loops between the other conductors and the exciting conductor.
