Process for producing an electrical insulating oil
The invention relates to a method for producing a highly aging-resistant, gas-proof insulating oil based on mineral oil, which can be used uniformly in transformers, capacitors, switchgears and high-voltage cables.
It is known to produce high quality mineral oil based insulating oil by selective refining or from selective; refined mineral oil fractions, which are refined with concentrated sulfuric acid.
The insulating oils currently produced by the known processes are divided into condenser oil and oil cable oil, which are gas-resistant but not very resistant to aging, and transformer oil, which is aging-resistant but not gas-resistant. So they can only be used for their intended purpose and require separate production and storage.
The object of the invention is to provide a simple process for the production of insulating oil with optimal aging resistance. which also shows a gas-absorbing tendency under the influence of glow discharges, is gas-resistant and non-aging and can be used as transformer oil, capacitor oil and oil cable oil.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that a by distillation of naphthenic
Fraction obtained consisting of crude oil

Example 1: A mineral oil distillate with a viscosity of about 25 cSt at 20 ° C., a flash point of over 1450 ° C. and an Sk number of less than 10% by volume was acidified at 200 ° C. with 10% sulfuric acid, the acid sludge was drawn off and that Oil washed neutral with sodium hydroxide solution and washing water. The neutral oil was then dried at 105 ° C. and bleached at 1200 ° C. with 10% fuller's earth. The separated oil was subjected to the same treatment again.
According to the invention, the oils treated in this way have aromatic contents of 24 to 27% and show the required aging resistance, good dielectric behavior and adequate gas absorption.

The acid sludge was drawn off again with 6% sulfuric acid based on the acid oil and then acidified a third time with 8% sulfuric acid. The settled sludge was removed and the oil neutralized and washed in a known manner. The subsequent bleaching took place, after previous drying, with 10% bleaching earth at 120 C.
After separating the fuller's earth from the oil, an electrical insulating oil with the required properties was obtained.
