Transistor time base for low frequency oscilloscopes
The subject of the invention is a transistor ripple oscillation generator for low-frequency oscillographs, the frequency of which can be continuously regulated by means of a minimal number of elements.
A number of electron tube tilting wave generators have already been developed for the purpose of displaying the course of processes on screens. When using transistors, the
Ability to imitate such circuits. It is Z. B. a circuit for generating a sawtooth-shaped voltage curve by means of a transistor is known, u. with feedback according to
Circuit diagram in Fig. 1 of the drawing. The circle for generating the sawtooth-shaped voltage curve here consists of a charging capacitor 1 and a working resistor 2. Via the working resistor 2 of the
The transistor 3 is fed to the feedback capacitor 4. The moment the
Capacitor 4 begins, the voltage Uc at the diode 5 is higher than the voltage UB of the battery H.
The diode 5 is impermeable at this moment, with the result that the charging current for the capacitor 1 is only taken from the feedback capacitor 4. In order to achieve good linearity of the sawtooth-shaped voltage curve, which is taken from terminals 7, the
The voltage drop across the capacitor 4 must be small, so that this capacitor must be much larger than that
Charging capacitor 1. With a higher constant number of oscillations, the linearity of the known relaxation oscillator is sufficient and it can be improved with the aid of a compensation circuit according to FIG. 2, which circuit is formed by a capacitor pair 8, 9 and a resistor 10. In this way it is even possible to achieve overcompensation according to the diagram in FIG. 3.
Then the part of the sawtooth-shaped voltage curve in which, under normal conditions, the straight line changes into an exponential drop according to the full line, on the contrary, has an exponential one
Increase according to the dashed line, so that it is possible to achieve a compensation in which the course becomes linear. Difficulties arise at low frequencies (of the order of magnitude of 10 Hz), since the required feedback capacitor 4 is already too large. If the number of vibrations changes continuously, the time constant of the working group formed by elements 1, 2 in FIG. 1 or by elements 2, 8, 9, and FIG. 2 must be changed.
As a result, on the one hand, the amplitude of the sawtooth-shaped oscillation changes and, on the other hand, in an arrangement according to FIG. 2, the compensation circuit is also detuned.
The aim of the invention is to remedy these disadvantages. This is done with a transistor time base for low-frequency oscilloscopes, consisting of a switching transistor and a working transistor, in which a constant charging current of the integration circuit is taken from a condenser connected between the emitter of the working transistor and the collector circuit-les switching transistor containing a diode, achieved according to the invention in that a further feedback is arranged by means of a capacitor between the base of the switching transistor and the collector of the working transistor, in the emitter circuit of which there are a regulating resistor and a stepwise variable capacitor in parallel.
The circuit according to the invention ensures good linearity of the tilting oscillation generator even with a low number of oscillations, which is maintained even with a continuous change in the number of oscillations in a ratio of 1: 5 with an almost constant amplitude of the sawtooth oscillation.

The circuit diagram of Fig. 4 shows an example of an embodiment of the subject invention, where the from. elements adopted from the circuit diagrams shown earlier are denoted by the same reference numbers.
Basically, it is again a loop with feedback. However, the positive feedback is implemented twice here, u. between on the one hand by the feedback capacitor 4 with large capacitance, on the other hand by the capacitor 11. The charging circuit formed by the variable resistor 22 in series with the constant resistor 21 and the stepwise switchable capacitor 23 is connected to the
Emitter of the working transistor 3 switched. The control resistor 22 determines the change in the number of oscillations. of the ! Resistor 21 connected in series ensures the stability of the circuit if resistor 22 is short-circuited. The oscillation range is roughly selected by the respective capacitance of the capacitor 23.
The feedback capacitor 4 is fed from the working resistor 22-21 of the transistor 3, the capacitance of which must be large enough so that its voltage fluctuates only very little when the capacitor 23 is charged. The diode 5 is polarized in such a way that while the capacitor 23 is charging, the voltage at the point Uc is greater than the voltage UB of the battery 6, so that the diode 5 is blocked and the capacitor 23 is charged from the capacitor 4 via the transistor 3 he follows. Simultaneously with the voltage rise on capacitor 23, there is a linear change in the potential of opposite polarity on collector resistor 12 of transistor 3. The signal from collector resistor 12 is fed to the base of switching transistor 13 via feedback capacitor 11.
The switching transistor 13 has on the one hand the task of a switching element which switches at the moment in which the charge on the capacitor 4 drops to a value at which the voltage Uc on the capacitor 4 is less than the voltage UB of the battery 6, on the other hand the task of a Amplifier, which works during the charging of the circuit 21, 22, 23, u, zw. In such a way that the voltage fed to the base of the transistor 13 after amplification compensates for the voltage drop at the feedback capacitor 4 and thus also extends the charging linearity of the charging circuit. The synchronization signal is fed to the base of the switching transistor 14 via the capacitor 14.
The stabilization of the working point of the working transistor 3 and thus also the stabilization of the number of oscillations in the event of temperature changes is carried out by a resistor divider 15, 16.
The circuits are drawn for transistors of type PNP, it is of course possible to use them for transistors of type NPN with opposite polarity of battery 6 and diode 5.
