running. The deflecting wheel 14 provided at the beginning of the working section of the computing element 16 sits with its stub axle on a pivot lever 21 which is articulated on the frame 7 and which is under the influence of a spring 22 to maintain the computing voltage. The spring 22 is a compression spring and is supported with one end on the frame 7, with the other end on the pivot lever 21. The deflection wheel 15 is rotatably mounted in a stationary manner at the corner point 12. The computing element 16 is designed as an endless chain on which the resiliently configured double prongs 23 are directly attached. However, there is the possibility of arranging several chains with tines as a computing element.
The frame 7 is pivotably mounted on the chassis 1 and carries a locking pin 24 which can be locked into holes 25 of an arch element 26 provided on the chassis. With the aid of these devices, the frame can be pivoted about an axis that is essentially parallel to the machining surface in and also against the direction of travel and can be fixed in these positions. As a result, the tine spacing from the ground can be adjusted and sufficient ground clearance for road travel can be achieved by strong pivoting. When spreading the forage, it is advantageous to move the frame and thus the tines 25 in the direction of travel in order to achieve better throwing. The frame is also mounted so that it can pivot about an essentially vertical axis and the computing plane or the working distance can thereby be set at an angle with respect to the direction of travel.
At the rear end of the chassis 1 there is a motor 27 which drives the drive wheel 5 via a worm drive 28. The drive connection can be established or interrupted by means of a coupling 29 in the hub of the drive wheel 5. The elongated worm shaft carries a V-belt pulley 30 at the end for driving the calculating element. This V-belt pulley can also be switched on and off with a clutch. The drive to the computing element leads via a V-belt countershaft drive 31, which is arranged on the lower part, namely on the side 8 of the pivotable frame 7. This makes it possible to swivel the frame and the essentially horizontal or the vertical axis, the V-belt twisting a little without running off. Another V-belt leads from the countershaft to the upper deflection wheel 15.
A hand control 32, which is attached to the chassis 1, is used to steer the device.
