Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Entlüftung des Motorblocks bei Brennkraftmaschinen
 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Ventilation of the engine block in internal combustion engines
 EMI1.1

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

A hollow box-shaped fan body 1 serving to hold the fan is fastened to an engine block 2 by means of a flange located at its lower end. Its cavity is connected to the interior of the fan body 1 via an opening 3 in the housing wall of the engine block. At the upper end of the body 1 there is an eye 4 in which the fan 6 is mounted.

   In the vicinity of the upper end of the body 1, a tube 5 is provided in an opening of its wall, which protrudes into the interior of the body 1 and projects beyond the lower inner wall of the holder by an adjustable length "a". The pulsating oil vapors flow out of the motor housing through the opening 3 into the space of the body 1 serving as the holder, where the pressure fluctuations are balanced out and the oil vapor condenses on the cooler walls in the form of oil droplets, which then flow back through the opening 3 into the motor housing . At the same time, the oil vapor also lubricates the shaft bearings of the fan 6 which are accommodated in the holding eye 4 and to which the oil vapor penetrates through at least one opening 7 provided in the holding eye.

   The outer end of the tube 5 can optionally be connected to the air cleaner.

   The ventilation system according to the invention can also be provided with a ventilation of the usual type, e.g. B. be supplemented by connecting the interior of the cylinder head cover with the air cleaner.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Ventilation of the engine block in internal combustion engines, in particular in rear-engined vehicles with a radiator arranged to the side of the engine and with ventilation of the engine housing through the hollow body of the fan. characterized in that the interior of the fan body (1) communicates with the outside air by means of a pipe (5) arranged in the half adjacent to the fan bearing (6) and protruding into the fan body and by means of an opening (3) provided in the wall of the engine block (2) ) is connected to the interior of this block, the interior of the fan body being used to compensate for air pressure fluctuations and to condense the oil vapors on its walls.

Claims (1)

2. Vent according to claim l, characterized in that in the bearing eye (4) of the fan bearing (6) at the upper end of the fan body (l) at least one opening (7) is provided, which the passage of the coming from the crankcase and for lubrication of the fan bearing Usable oil vapor is used.
