Solid fuel feed damper
The feed damper described in Austrian patent specification No. 189911 must always be looked after by placing fuel on it. However, in order to be able to carry out steaming without repeated application of fuel, the front (chest) of the damper is provided with a fuel storage device which opens into the combustion chamber. A flap that is movable can regulate and shut off the fuel supply. The heating takes place in the combustion chamber above the combustion door. If a stick of embers has formed, the fuel reservoir is refilled, whereby the fuel comes to rest on the embers. Due to the burn-up and its own weight, the fuel slips into the combustion chamber by itself to burn.
Fig. 1 shows the steam boiler in a side section with combustion chamber 1 and grate 2, where a glow stick is created by heating. The fuel regulator and fuel container flap 3, which can be rotated from the outside, hangs above the combustion chamber. When the fuel container 1S is closed, the latter releases an opening to allow the flue gases in the container to be vented. On the front of the boiler there is the fuel container 5, which expands after the firing, with the filling opening 6.
FIG. 2 shows the tilted feed kettle from the side, the fuel container 5 being closed by means of a closure flap 3. The opening 4 allows the formation of smoke gases to be drawn off through the combustion chamber.
