<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 4a zeigt einen. Rotor mit durchwegs positiver Krümmung seiner meridionalen Schaufelprofillinien.
Fig. 4b stellt einen Rotor dar, dessen Schaufelprofillinien in Anpassung an besondere Strömungsverhältnisse in einem Bereich des Rotorinnern konkav (negative Krümmung), im übrigen Bereich konvex (positive Krümmung) verlaufen.

Danach erhält man beispiels-
EMI2.2

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Turbo machine
The invention relates to a novel and particularly advantageous fluid flow machine, such as a pump, compressor, turbine or the like, for compressing, relieving or conveying compressible or non-compressible media.
Turbomachines known so far are based on a one-dimensional design, i.e. H. Their construction is based on a mathematical calculation that only takes into account a one-dimensional flow of the medium. These conventional flow machines have the considerable disadvantages that, on the one hand, their efficiency is relatively low, and on the other hand, sufficient stability with regard to their delivery characteristics, which is usually shown as a throttle curve in the PV diagram, the graphical representation of the dependency between delivery pressure or height P and the per unit of time the machine running delivery volume V, can be illustrated,
cannot always be achieved and, furthermore, it is difficult to avoid lossy cross-currents in them, which are responsible in particular for the relatively low efficiency. Finally, a considerable deficiency in these previously known turbomachines is that their mechanical running behavior is often severely disturbed by flow breaks.
By means of a three-dimensional mathematical approach to the flow conditions, it has now been established that the disadvantages of previously known flow machines indicated above can be largely avoided if according to the invention in such a flow machine
1. all of the blade center lines guided along a guide line of each blade of its rotor running at a variable angle to the respective rotor axis perpendicular are perpendicular to the rotor axis and
2. The areas of the meridional outer and inner blade profile lines hit by the same axial perpendicular in each case are, at least approximately, axially congruent to one another.
A turbomachine having these two main features of the invention has surprisingly higher efficiencies, significantly more stable characteristics and smoother mechanical running properties than the previously known turbomachines.
Even if a rotor equipped with these two features can be used as an impeller for pumps and compressors as well as for turbines with the same success, for the sake of simplicity in the following description, in which the invention is explained in more detail in connection with the drawing , as a rule only the proportions of a pump or a compressor are referred to.
1 a schematically illustrates the rotor of a turbomachine of the type according to the invention in a generalizing exemplary embodiment.
1b shows an exemplary course of the so-called guideline L associated with the outer blade profile line, which is derived from the outer one, which is developed in a plane for the sake of simplicity
EMI1.1
the respective rotor axis perpendiculars (e.g. 1, 2 or 2 ") along the outer blade profile line.
The respective rotor axis perpendicular represents the circular line that is laid in the same plane as a straight line in this development and that runs in a plane perpendicular to the rotor axis through the respective point of the outer blade profile line under consideration, concentric to the rotor axis, so that the angle Ba corresponds to that between the corresponds to the outer blade profile line and the relevant circular line intersected by it, as is also indicated in FIG. la, for example, for point la of the outer blade profile line.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
2 shows various courses a to e of the guideline L, the curvature of which l / p has a negative sign when the vector p is directed towards the rotor axis and is positive when this vector points away from the rotor axis. As can be seen, the sign can also change within the guideline in question, depending on the conditions that arise. Furthermore, it is possible that the curvature in a region of the guideline assumes the value zero, i.e. H. the latter becomes rectilinear.
3 illustrates a rotor designed according to the invention, the meridional blade profile lines of which have a negative curvature l / R over their entire length, that is to say they run concave.
Fig. 4a shows one. Rotor with consistently positive curvature of its meridional blade profile lines.
4b shows a rotor, the blade profile lines of which are concave (negative curvature) in one area of the interior of the rotor and convex (positive curvature) in the remaining area, adapted to particular flow conditions.
Finally, FIG. 5 illustrates a rotor with rotor and downstream guide vane rings constructed according to the same principles of the invention.
According to the first main feature of the invention cited above, the rotor blades 4 of the rotor 10 (FIG. 1 a) are designed in such a way that all of their radial center lines along an imaginary streamline (for example indicated at 7), along which the flow medium z. B. with the meridional velocity
EMI2.1
the axis of the rotor shaft 5 are. Due to this construction u. a. The advantage is given that the rotating blades are only stressed by centrifugal forces if one neglects the relatively low torque forces.
As is common practice, the angle of incidence of the blade, which is enclosed by the axial component, viewed in the radial direction, of a certain streamline and a circular line that intersects it and is concentric to the rotor axis, is denoted by ss ,. which, according to the above, by handling the relevant streamline, z. B. a blade profile line, in a plane as an angle between the resulting guideline and the respective rotor axis perpendicular, the application of the first main inventive feature shows that the tangent of ss along a radial blade center line (such as 1a-1f or 2a-2i in FIG. La) is inversely proportional to its distance r from the rotor axis at each point.
Then you get for example
EMI2.2
Blade profile line has the relationship tgss = -tgss .. This ratio applies to every cut perpendicular to the rotor axis.
If one has now determined the size profile of the blade angle Ba along the outer blade profile line la (see Fig. La) according to general structural and hydraulic aspects, the change in size of the blade angle along all other to the outer profile line la is inevitably obtained according to the aforementioned equation - 2a parallel imaginary streamlines, such as B. the angle Bi along the inner blade profile line li-2i.
According to the second main inventive feature already highlighted above, the two meridional blade profile lines la-2a (outer) and li-Si (inner) are now at least approximated within the areas in which they can each be hit by a single perpendicular to the rotor axis , axially congruent. This means that the two blade profile lines have both the same curvature I / R and the same angle of inclination et relative to the axis parallel in question in all of their points made by a common section perpendicular to the rotor axis particularly smooth running of the flow machine according to the invention is guaranteed.
With this three-dimensional mathematical approach to the flow conditions used for the first time in the design of such turbomachines, it is important to precisely record the respective conditions and precise definition of the shape of the blades without having to rely on mathematical neglect, as was previously the case with one-dimensional designs that the two largely axially congruent meridional blade profile lines la - 2a and li - 2 ″ indeed

B.fen, whereby the course of the profile line in its individual sections can take place according to various such functions.
In FIGS. 1 a and 3, the dotted extension line 6 indicates the further course of the function curve which determines the outer blade profile line.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Depending on the hydraulic requirements, the curvature 1 / R of the meridional blade profile lines la-2a and li-2 ″ can be either opposite or equal to the curvature 1 / p of the associated guideline in terms of their sign (concave = -, convex = +) at each point Be L.
In terms of the objective according to the invention, it is of further advantage that the mathematical curve shape of the meridional blade profile lines la-2a and 1i-2 ″ and the angle B of the guideline L to the axis perpendicular are coordinated so that the meridional flow velocity cm
EMI3.1
outer blade profile line la-2a in the exit point 2a and the angle ss between the guideline L and the axis perpendicular in the same point 2a is less than 900.
2a
Using these special features and observing the two main features of the invention, a radially equilibrated balance of the flow through the entire rotor can be achieved through appropriate coordination of the course and the curvature l / R of the meridional blade profile lines to the change in size of the angle a along the streamlines - a Ideal case that cannot be achieved by means of a conventional one-dimensional design, whereby a significantly quieter flow, an improvement in the degree of efficiency, a higher stability of the delivery characteristics and a better hydromechanical behavior of such flow machines are achieved.
Each blade 4 of the rotor can now be divided into three axially extending sections x, x, x
EMI3.2
The outer blade profile lip extends only to the two sections x1 and x, since according to a basic hydraulic condition the outer profile line must be shorter than the inner one so that the energy given (pump) or extracted (turbine) along both profile lines is the same.
The power level at each point of the rotor is i.a. determined by the goniometric quotient cos? / tgssa of the two angles a and Ba. In compliance with the basic principles of the invention can now
EMI3.3
Design in such a way that no energy is added to or dissipated from the flow medium within its length, which greatly contributes to calming the flow. It has been found to be expedient here to dimension the length of this first section x to be at least 20% of the inner distance from blade to blade.
EMI3.4
fill line.
As can now be shown by analytical derivation, if the basic principle of the invention is adhered to, the rotational speed Cu given to the flow medium between the blades when the impeller rotates (as a circumferential component of the absolute speed of the medium) is in each

However, from the inclined blade edge 2 "- 2a, the trailing edge of the blade of a pump or
The leading edge of the blade of a turbine, which edge together with the inner profile line 2i-2 ″ delimits the third section x3, the medium flowing out or in has a speed of rotation
EMI3.6
inner meridional blade profile line li - 2 "so long and the respective angle a to the axis parallel as well as the respective angle between the guideline L and the axis perpendicular are kept so large that the flow medium is imparted or respectively to the flow medium in the entire length li-2" of the inner blade profile line The energy extracted is equal to that which is generated or obtained along the outer meridional blade profile line la-2a.
The above-mentioned quotient cos x / tg Ba can be kept in a quantity that is characteristic for each machine type, which allows the maximum point of the characteristic present in the PV diagram to be shifted to the left to a smaller delivery volume V, if necessary up to point V = 0, in order to achieve a high hydraulic stability of the delivery rate.
According to a further feature of the invention, the guideline L can run in a straight line and / or concavely and / or convexly curved in the individual sections x, x and x, as can be seen from FIG.
The blade profile lines can according to FIGS. 3, 4a and 4b in the individual sections x, x and x3
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
have any positive or negative curvature l / R, which results in each case from the set flow conditions and the dimensioning of the blades.
The radial extension and loading of the blades according to the first main feature of the invention not only allows the front blade cover wall to be completely dispensed with, but also advantageously allows the rear blade cover wall 3 (cf. Fig. La), possibly down to the axle body 5 of the Omit the rotor. This results from the fact that in the construction according to the invention it is not necessary to support the blades by cover walls, and it does not negligibly reduce the axial bearing loads and the surface friction of the rotor. Accordingly, according to the invention, the diameter D3 of the rear blade top wall 3 can preferably be kept smaller than 80% of the largest rotor diameter D.
If the flow is to be particularly influenced in its path in front of and behind the rotor in an individual case in a manner known per se, guide vane rings can be connected upstream and / or downstream of the rotor (cf. FIG. 5), their blades 8 or d after an independent feature of the invention correspond in their shape and design to that of the rotor blades 4, d. H. are constructed according to exactly the same aspects of the invention set out above as the moving blades. It is entirely possible to connect such leading and trailing vane rings according to the invention also to impellers of previously known flow machines.
A more general consideration of the flow conditions in the impeller shows that the first main feature of the invention can be modified if the hydrodynamic consequences of this change are taken into account with the other main features according to the invention.
The position of the blade center lines is not selected as a perpendicular to the rotor axis, as in the main feature, but is designed in such a way that the angle ss (in the same meaning as before) along each radial section according to the formula:
EMI4.1
runs (whereby the said blade center line is determined), whereby the factor g is chosen as a function of the distance (r) so that at the radius r = ra (i.e. on the outer meridional profile line (la-2a)) g the value 1 and in the other areas, assumes any of 1 different.
As a result of this center line definition, a corresponding change in the shape and curvature of the guideline (L) associated with the radial section as well as the shape and curvature of the meridional profile line must be made, but without changing its basic characteristics described above.
