<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Waterproof packaging, in particular for liquids or powdery materials
The invention relates to a waterproof packaging, in particular for liquids or powdery materials, which is produced from a piece of a simple or composite, pliable material, which consists of thermoplastic films, or at least on the inside of the packaging.
Forming surface is provided with a thermoplastic covering, which has the shape of a bag without bellows sides with side edge welding of the front and rear surfaces and a seamless polygon base that forms a piece with the surfaces of the packaging, whereby in the two surfaces chen folding lines are provided which run in the longitudinal direction of the packaging.
Compared to these known collapsible bags, the packaging according to the invention differs in that the lateral ends of the bottom of the packaging are bent downwards and are held in this position by a permanent deformation of the bottom. This measure gives the packaging a special appearance and does not allow opened packaging to be placed vertically. Therefore, this type of
EMI1.1
used, which forms a stable basis for the packaging. In this case, the packaging can be set up like a bottle.
In the drawing, two embodiments of a packaging according to the invention are shown as exemplary embodiments.
1 shows a diagrammatic view of a rigid packaging which is absolutely tight and which is produced from a foldable plate, the side edges of which are heat-welded. The base 1 is stable and forms the base, which consists of one piece with the two surfaces of the packaging. This packaging has no seam connection either in the bottom or between the bottom and the surfaces, so that absolute tightness is guaranteed. The edges 2 of the board are welded warn, whereby the tightness is guaranteed and the structure is stiffened. The opening 3 of the packaging is also after filling. closed by hot welding of the upper edges.
The folding lines 4 and 5 provided according to the invention, which lie in the longitudinal direction of the packaging, start from the bottom corners and run to the open end of the packaging. These Faltlimen reinforce the structure and give the packaging great rigidity and. an original look.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the sides, edges of the front and back are welded to one another along a broken line, ie. H. the edges are first welded together on a vertical line 6 from the base to about half the height of the package and then on an inclined line 7 which approaches the middle part of the package up to the upper opening.
According to a further feature of the invention, the fold lines 4 and 5 intersect the inclined edges 7 at approximately 2/3 the height of the packaging.
In certain cases, for aesthetic reasons or to increase rigidity, it is desirable to provide one or more additional fold lines on one or both surfaces of the packaging, e.g. B. a fold line 8. This fold line 8 extends in the exemplary embodiment from the upper edge over the upper third of the packaging parallel to the longitudinal axis, but it is possible to provide two or more such fold lines 8, which can be parallel to each other.
These fold lines 8 can be on one or both surfaces of the packaging and further on both. Areas can be provided in equal or unequal numbers, depending on wishes or special needs.
In the packaging according to the invention, the ends of that part that forms the bottom are bent or folded downwards so that the welding of the side edges over the
EMI1.2
Edges follow a broken line 6,7 or are continuously lined up.
In a modified version of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Packing according to FIG. 1, the bases are connected with a rigid bridge 10, as shown in FIG. By choosing one! Bridge 10 of suitable dimensions and adaptation of this bridge to the bottom shape of the packaging can be given an original shape to the packaging insofar as the cross-section of the packaging near the base (dotted line 11) is smaller than the level of the bend of the two side edges 6 and 7, d. H. at the level of the dash-dotted line 12. A pack is thus obtained which has the special shape of a bottle.
If necessary, the bridge can be made of cardboard or another rigid material and can be glued or welded to the bottom of the packaging in order to obtain a stable base.
This packaging is particularly easy to produce continuously in large quantities, since after the folding lines have been made on opposite sides of the base, the board only needs to be folded vertically or approximately perpendicular to the base and then welded on the side edges using pressure and heat. The packaging is only open at the top and can also be closed here after filling by welding the two top edges.
In the production, it is advantageous to start from a roll of the material from which the material runs off and continuously through suitable and known devices, e.g. B. by means of embossing cylinders, rolling wheels or the like. Is provided with the desired folding lines in longitudinal, transverse and angular positions. The blanks to be cut out of the material prepared in this way are then folded twice, with the part remaining between these two folding lines that forms the base

packing through the course of the welded
Edges that can be straight, broken or curved.
