Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Nu 1 771 5. AUGUST ROBERT SCHERDING IN PARIS.

AUSTRIAN PATENT NUMBER 1 771 AUGUST 5 ROBERT SCHERDING IN PARIS.
Jet blowers for liquid fuels.
The present invention relates to a jet fan for liquid fuels and the same is shown in the drawing in two embodiments. 1 shows a section through the jet blower according to one embodiment and FIG. 2 shows a section through part of the jet fan according to another embodiment. FIG. 3 shows a section along the line x-x in FIG.
The jet blower according to FIG. 1 consists of an ordinary steam or air injector 1, which sucks the liquid fuel from a suitable container through the pipe 2. The fuel is mixed with steam or air and driven into a special organ, which consists of a tubular, partly cylindrical, partly conical part 3 and an organ 4 mounted therein, the inner wall of which is cylindrical and the outside of which is beveled conically at one end at 5 is provided on the cylindrical part with annular ribs 6, which touch the cylindrical inner wall of part 3 and are provided with recesses in such a way that a channel is created, which at its lower end with the continuation of the suction pipe 1 hildendpn pipes 7 in

The jet coming from the injector experiences rapid wear.
The conical outer surface 5 of the organ 4 is at a certain distance from the conical inner surface of the cone 3. The inner surface of the organ 4 is lined by a cylindrical tube 9, which protrudes over the cone 5 of the organ 4 and is less here Distance from the conical inner wall 3 ends. In order to regulate the ring-shaped opening thus formed between this wall and the end of the tube ss as desired, the tube 9 is screwed into the organ 4 at its lower end, which opens into the open air, so that by rotating the inner wall 3 can be approached or removed from the same.
Above the end of the tube ss the conical part 3 is set in a short cylindrical one
Part 11 continues, which ends with a slightly conical and slightly widened part 12 on the outside. The cone thus formed opens into a tube which is composed of two conical parts 14 and 15 united at their small base. The only weak one

and so an annular space is formed between the two. The tube 13 is screwed at 16 onto a flange located at the upper end of the part 3, which flange is provided with openings 17 through which air can enter the annular space.
The gases flow through in the apparatus as follows. The injector J! The mixture of air (or steam) and liquid fuel produced pours into the channel formed by the ribs 6 and their recesses, flows through the same completely and emerges from this into the annular space between the conical inner and outer walls of the parts 5 and then through the annular opening around the upper end of the tube 9 to enter the part 11. As stated above, the width of this outlet opening can be regulated as desired by turning the tube 9

The mixture formed in this way then enters the tube 13, with a further entry of air through the openings 17. The now fully formed gaseous mixture is sent to the point of use, ie z. B. driven to the furnace.
In special cases, when an increase in the speed of the flow and thus also the amount of fuel supplied is desired, the part 3 can also be designed as shown in FIGS. It then consists of two parts 18 and 19 connected at 20, between which a steam chamber 21 is formed, fed by a special feed line 22, which narrows upwards and inwards and the steam through a ring of narrow recesses or gaps 23 ( Fig. 3) in the space between 3 and 5 (Fig. 1) can escape.
The supplied steam considerably increases the speed at which the mixture flows through the annular opening into the part 11 and the amount of air sucked in through the tube 9 is increased accordingly.
