PATENTSCHRIFT Nr. 16672. BÜRSTENFABRIK ERLANGEN, A.-G., VORM. EMIL KRÄNZLEIN IN ERLANGEN (BAYERN).

PATENT NO. 16672. BRUSH FACTORY ERLANGEN, A.-G., FORM. EMIL KRÄNZLEIN IN ERLANGEN (BAVARIA).

Anchor for fastening bristles in brush bodies of all kinds.

The present invention relates to an improvement on anchors for fastening bundles of bristles, so that, owing to their special shape, they can also be used with hard brush bodies. such as can be used by Bein to fix the bundles of bristles.

So far, to fix the bristle bundles a in the brush body b U-shaped anchors d toothed on the outer edges of both legs have been used (Fig. 1), which were spread with the aid of a wedge-shaped punch within the bore g of the brush body b (Fig. 2) . But since these anchors d can mainly only be pressed at the upper end into the brush body b, they do not find the desired hold,
 EMI1.2
Anchors at all, to be able to press into the same, whereas this is not possible when processing harder compounds, such as legs, and the bristles had to be fastened in the usual way by binding.

In the present invention, the more secure fastening of the bristles is achieved in both soft brush bodies as well as in legs and the like. Like. Using anchors thereby
 EMI1.3
After the bristles a have been drawn in, they are subjected to an appropriate pressure and thereby suffer a change in shape, which has the consequence that the lateral corners of the armature dl penetrate the walls of the bore 9 (Fig. 4) or, in the case of hard brush bodies, become stuck due to their spring force .

The anchors dl to be used here differ from those previously used mainly in that their lateral legs are firmly connected at both ends and are of such a shape that they can be moved when pressed firmly into the bore 9

(Fig. 4) and thus penetrate into the brush body at an appropriate distance from the mouth of the bore g or, if it is hard, clamp itself by virtue of its own spring force resulting from the sagging.

The anchors advantageously have a rhombic shape and are accordingly
