Verfahren zur Herstellung von Verbundgussblöcken
EMI1.1

Process for the production of composite cast blocks
EMI1.1
Melt must be directed against the entire composite surface of the first cast block in the plane of its liquid level.
The device in question consists of a tubular distributor hanging down from the pouring ladle, at the lower end of which a horizontal distributor channel is provided with openings from which the liquid metal in the form of
Beams are thrown onto the composite surface of the first cast block located in the mold by continuously lifting the pouring ladle with the distributor in such a way as the liquid level rises during the pouring of the second melt that the liquid metal is in the plane of the liquid level on the surface of the meets the cast block first.
With this method, however, the success is also dependent on the skill of the personnel operating the distributor and furthermore on whether the metal jets that hit the joint of the first cast block only in the plane of the liquid level of the subsequently cast melt are sufficient for complete fusion with the first cast block.
Furthermore, it is known to produce composite cast blocks without a lost head in a casting mold composed of parts with different cooling options, which consists of a lower part made of iron, a middle part made of refractory lining material and an upper cover plate made of iron, in such a way that the subsequently cast metal is exposed the above to a certain depth still liquid block of the first cast metal from horizontal
Supply channels is poured obliquely downwards. However, this method has the disadvantage that the metals at the connection point form a deep layer of undesirable alloys or
Can form mixtures.
The invention relates to a method for the production of composite cast blocks, in which the block produced first, optionally under
Application of a partition, poured or inserted in the heated state in the mold and consists in that the after-cast
Melt is cast in a horizontal direction over the solidified, but still sufficiently heated to fuse with the subsequently cast metal, horizontal bonded surface of the block first produced. It has proven to be advantageous if the mold into which the block produced first is poured or inserted consists of a poorly heat-conducting material, such as sand, or has a heat-insulating lining.
Furthermore, the fusion of the two metals can be promoted by sprinkling the bonded surface of the first block with welding powder before pouring the second melt, which is easy to do with the new method due to the horizontal arrangement of the bonded surface.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown, u. Between FIG. 1 shows a mold for carrying out the method in vertical section, FIG. 2 shows a plan view and FIG. 3 shows a section along the line A-B of FIG.

In the molding box 1 with the sand 2 is the mold 3 for the composite block. The block 4 to be produced first is poured through the funnel 5 and after its composite surface 6 has solidified sufficiently, if necessary after sprinkling it with welding powder, the second melt 8 is subsequently cast through the funnel 7, 7 ′. These funnels are connected diagonally downwards, in the transverse
EMI2.1
the metal is more easily distributed to their outer ends.
The new method offers the advantage that the entire composite surface 6 is suddenly covered by the melt 8 that has been subsequently cast in the horizontal direction and continuously flushed in such a way that no further oxidation of the composite surface occurs, but the existing oxide skin is washed away and the composite surface 6 onto the surface Fusion with the subsequent metal is heated required temperature, without the need to maintain such a narrow temperature range or a special skill of the staff as in the known methods. Instead of pouring the first block in the mold 3, a z. B. in the salt bath furnace, heated to about 11000 C block, a plate or any other, the bottom of the mold 3, if necessary, only partially covering workpiece can be inserted.
Further advantages of the new method are that the use of a partition is generally not required and the composite block does not have a lost head.
Depending on the cross section of the composite block, one of the funnels 7, 7 'is also sufficient to cast the second melt. As soon as the fusion of the subsequently cast metal with the block 4 is ensured, the rest of the second melt can also be cast directly into the mold 3 instead of through the funnels 7, 7 ′.
