Schienenstossverbindung.

Rail joint connection.
In the object of the present invention, a double-tapered connecting rail is connected to the abutting rails, the ends of which are bent laterally outward from the track, one end of which is fixed to the end of a main rail and the other end by a flexible connection to the other main rail is united.
The drawing shows two embodiments of the invention, u. Between FIG. 1 a plan view of the device, in FIG. 2 a horizontal section and in FIG. 3 a section in the direction 3-3 of FIG. 2. FIG. 4 shows one of the two support plates which are used for the main rail parts behind the bent ends are used. Fig. Fi is a section corresponding to Fig. 3 of a modification of the attachment.
The rails a and b are fastened to the sleepers by means of bolts or in some other way and their abutting ends al and bl are bent obliquely outwards (FIGS. 1 and 2). The double-tapered connecting rail c has the shape of a normal rail, the outer sides of which are cut off so that two points are formed so that the head of the rail c lies in a straight line with the central parts of the rails a and b. As indicated in Fig. 2 by dotted lines and in Fig. 3 by full lines, the foot of the connecting rail c is cut out or deepened, as shown at cl, so that the fissures of the rail a and b can reach under it. One of the rails, e.g.
B. the rail a, is firmly connected to the connecting rail c by means of the bolts d and chairs are provided to fasten the rail end al and the connecting rail c on the sleepers e. These chairs can be of any construction, e.g. B. as described below in connection with the other rail b. In order to allow the necessary expansion and contraction of the rails, it is necessary, since the parts a and c are firmly connected to one another, a slight movement of the parts b

slats f provided with transversely attached housings c2 in which springs h are mounted.
Angle-shaped pins f1 project into this housing c and are rigidly connected to the base plates f on the sides opposite the chair 9. The springs h serve to press the connecting rail c and the rail end b1 together firmly, but resiliently, and while the parts are in normal
Location mi. If the necessary strength cannot be maintained, this construction nevertheless allows a slight longitudinal displacement of the parts relative to one another.
Fig. 5 shows a slight modification of the construction described above. These
The modification consists essentially in the fact that the chairs 9 are omitted. In the modified embodiment, the base plate f has a hook which is bent up in such a way that it encompasses the rail foot of the rail bl. Otherwise, the construction is similar to that previously described.
As shown in Figures 1 and 2, for those directly below the butting
A base plate i is provided at the ends of the sleeper, which serves as a support for parts a1, h1 and c at the same height.
