<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Electropneumatic control for single or multi-phase power switches.
The invention relates to an electropneumatic control for single- or multi-phase circuit breakers with at least two contact points connected in series, at least one of which is blown and closes again automatically, while the other is a simple air separation point
Use of an on-and-off cylinder for the simple air separation point and a switching valve on the pressure vessel for the inflated contact point, which are controlled by valves.
The
Invention is that the drive cylinder for switching on the simple separation point is directly connected to the pressure vessel via the associated electrically controlled valve, while the drive cylinder for switching off the simple separation point is connected to the switching valve and directly via this or indirectly via the associated electrically controlled valve with
Compressed air is fed. According to a further embodiment of the invention, the drive cylinder for switching off the simple separation point is connected to the switching valve via a tap line of the pressure supply line to the inflated contact point and the associated electrically controlled valve is connected to the cylinder of the control piston of the switching valve on the one hand and to the pressure vessel on the other.
In the drawing, embodiments of the invention are shown schematically in FIGS. 1 and 2 on a three-phase circuit breaker, FIG. 3 shows a single-phase switch. In the figures, a denotes a container for air or gas under excess pressure, which serves as a control means and at the same time as an extinguishing means for the open arc at the blown contact point. The container a is connected to a pressurized gas or pressurized air generation system (not shown).
In the interior of the compressed air tank a sits the switching valve b, which may have a direct connection with the outside air and is opened and closed by means of a pneumatically moved piston c.
The cylinder in which the piston c of the switching valve b slides is in communication with the compressed air tank a through the control valve sa. The switching valve b releases the influx of compressed air on the one hand via the supply lines e, -e, to the extinguishing contact points located in the extinguishing chamber <- and the drive piston i- / g connected to the movable and spring-loaded extinguishing contacts of the same and, on the other hand, provides a connection to the container a Via the pipe g connected to the supply line ei with the drive cylinder za. The drive cylinder Ze is also connected to the compressed air tank via the control valve se.
The pistons sliding in the drive cylinders Ze and à drive the drive shaft i by means of their piston rods articulated on the two-armed lever h and thus adjust the isolating contacts k, -k, the isolating points that are connected in series with the extinguishing contacts located in the extinguishing chamber d1 to a3 . The movement of the pistons of the drive cylinders Ze and X or the drive shaft i is dampened by dampers n. R, S, T are the supply and discharge lines to the contact points of the circuit breaker. The isolating contacts kr-k3 are connected to the movable extinguishing contacts provided with the drive piston fr- / 3 in the switched-on position of the power switch z.
B. latched in that the isolating contacts have a reinforced end with which they are inserted into the pretensioned contact brushes at the end of the movable erase contacts. Exhaust coolers mi-wus are attached to the extinguishing chamber -3. The electromagnetic coils re, ra of the control valves Se and Sa are alternately connected to the network p with the aid of a switch or push button o. With t an auxiliary contact controlled by the drive shaft i is also referred to, which prepares the circuits for the control coils of the control valves. The opening

the circuit breaker and thus the circuit R S T protected by it can be brought about automatically by means of a maximum current relay or by hand by means of the changeover switch o.
Fig. 1 shows the circuit breaker after shutdown due to a fault, z. B. in phase R. The movable extinguishing contact in the extinguishing chamber is after its opening movement by the piston moved by the compressed air. and after extinguishing the arc under the spring
EMI2.1
Supply lines -63 are coupled, d. H. are fed with compressed air jointly by the switching valve b, the switches of the other phases have also responded at the same time. When the clear contacts opened, their contact brushes slid off the reinforced ends of the kit-ka isolating contacts.
The isolating contacts kit-ka can now be brought into the open position shown under the action of the compressed air supplied to the drive cylinder 2s via the throttle line g and the piston driven by it, which adjusts the drive shaft i by means of the piston rod and the lever h. Ze's piston also assumed the position shown.
To switch the circuit breaker on again, the isolating contacts k, -k "must be inserted. This is done by flipping the switch or pushbutton o into position E, the coil 1e receiving current and, when responding, the control valve Se opens, so that compressed air from the compressed air tank a can enter the drive cylinder% via the power u and drive the piston forward. The piston moves downward, adjusts the arm h and rotates the drive shaft i so that the isolating contacts reach the closed position with a delay due to the damping n In the closing movement, the piston in the opening drive cylinder is lifted and the air in front of it is blown into the atmosphere via the switching valve b.
If the circuit breaker has responded to a short circuit and if this is not rectified when the control system is initiated to switch it on again, then every time an attempt is made to insert the isolating contacts kit-ka, the
EMI2.2
running movement of the pistons of the closing drive cylinder ze and the closing drive cylinder, coupled by the two-armed lever h, is impossible. In order to still enable the switch to be switched off, the piston rod of the closing drive cylinder is provided with a freewheel.
The piston rod is hinged to the piston of the closing drive cylinder, and a lever v is articulated at the lower end of the piston rod, which forms a toggle lever with the piston rod and on which a pawl iv is rotatable, which in the switched-on position is in contact with a fixed stop x comes. The spring y serves to keep the toggle lever normally approximately in the extended position and to secure the latching of the end of the piston rod with the pawl 10. If the activation control is initiated in response to a short circuit, the piston of the activation drive cylinder% can slide freely downwards.
During this movement, the pawl w hits the stop x, so that the latching w is released and the toggle lever formed from the piston rod and the lever v is pushed through against the spring y. The switch can be switched off automatically, thus avoiding pumping. As soon as the short circuit has been eliminated and the piston of the shut-off drive cylinder is relieved of compressed air, the toggle lever is brought into its approximate extended position by the action of the spring y, the drive shaft i is rotated and the isolating contacts k1-k2 are inserted.
The circuit breaker is opened electropneumatically by moving the switch o to position A. This energizes the coil 1a, opens the control valve sa and leads compressed air from the container a behind the piston c of the switching valve b. The compressed air now flows through the pipes cl-eu to the quenching chambers d1-d2 and into the drive cylinder% ,, so that the isolating contacts are opened in the manner explained earlier.
In order to ensure that once a control has been initiated for switching on or off, it is carried out completely if the switch or push button o is left in the corresponding control position for too short a time or is immediately placed in the other control position, A special interlock is provided which prevents the second control from being initiated while the initiated control is being carried out, i. H. locks the other control valve and the armature of its control coil. This locking device has two on the same

In the embodiment, the piston rod of the piston is extended from the Aussehaltantriebsylinder à ales plunger st2 and z. hinged, whose other arm carries the plunger si.
- In the Aussehaltstellung the circuit breaker shown in FIG. H. the one end position, the locking is ineffective because the plunger s <j rests on the ratchet lever, the control valves are closed and the armature fi, their control coils have fallen off. If the changeover switch or push button o is now moved to E, does coil get? e current and its anchor goes into the dashed position.
Here, however, pressure is supplied to the drive cylinder% via the opening control valve and
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the pistons of zc and za are moved in opposite directions, the plunger si sliding off the ratchet lever Z1, so that this and also the lever Z2 are pulled to the right by the spring. It will

Only towards the end of the initiated switch-on control, i. H. When the isolating contacts -k3 are inserted, the plunger st2 comes into contact with the latch lever%, which is turned against the spring and the armature? i, unlocked. The same interlock is provided for the switch-off control of the closed switch. The control valves resp.
Control coils are therefore alternately locked while a control is being carried out, but are free in the end positions.
Finally, FIG. 2 shows the use of the control according to the invention in power switches for high switching currents, the contact points connected in series being bridged by disconnecting blades which serve to relieve the extinguishing contacts of the operating current. The mating contacts of the cutting blades are located on the quenching chambers d1-d3. These bridging disconnectors K / to K3 'must be opened before the quenching contacts, but at the same time closed with the isolating contacts k1-k3, which are in series with the quenching contacts. The control and locking of the individual drive parts is essentially the same as described for FIG.
A difference in the arrangement is that the switch-off drive cylinder za is directly connected to the control valve Sa, and that this cylinder z has a direct connection to the switching valve b, the connection of the latter connection being attached to the drive cylinder so that the connection of the drive cylinder %, with the drive piston of the switch valve b is only produced when the piston of the drive cylinder Za has covered a distance which is sufficient to open the bridging disconnection knife. In the exemplary embodiment, the isolating contacts -k3 are mounted on the bridging isolating blades themselves and connected to the latter by springs.
The isolating contacts can, however, also have common axes of rotation with the bridging isolating blades.
When the bridging disconnector K1'-K3 'is opened, the springs between them and the disconnection contacts il-kg are initially tensioned until the releasing spring opens the disconnection contacts after the previously described locking of the disconnection contacts with the movable quenching contacts has been released. A change in the phase distances between the switches can be made by replaceable
Intermediate pieces can be achieved in the compressed air lines connecting the switching devices.
So that the main valve or a similar pilot valve upstream of it is independent of the position of the series cutting knife after opening the same, but after deleting the
Arc at the blown contact point can move back into its closed position at any time, these valves are designed according to FIG. 3 so that the valves supplied to the control piston
Compressed air can occur on the opposite side of the piston side acted upon and so after a certain
Piston travel creates a certain pressure equalization on both sides of the piston, so that these valves under
Effect of the piston spring can easily move into the closed position.
In FIG. 3, the same letters denote the same objects as in FIGS. 1 and 2. The valve disk b of the main valve D1, which is connected by a rod to a control piston c, is resiliently mounted in a cylinder Do which is separate from the valve body. The control piston c is provided with at least one bore a of any shape, which can also be located on the edge of the piston. A connection between the two sides of the piston can also be established through sufficient play of the piston c in the cylinder Do. This cylinder is connected to the compressed air tank a via pipes and the control valve sa for switching off.
To the valve body of the main valve D1 is through the
Insulator is attached to chamber d1 for the inflated contact point, which consists of the chamber wall as a fixed contact K and the piston-like guided and cushioned movable contact K1 that is insulated in the chamber. The knife of the series disconnector, the mating contact of which is formed by an extension of the movable contact K1 of the blown switch, is denoted by kl. The cutting knife is hinged to the insulator e, which is supported against the housing of the compressed air tank a.
The cutting knife is driven when it is switched off by means of the control valve Sa and the shut-off cylinder s and the linkage h, n; but when switching on using the
EMI3.2
is directly connected to the valve body of the main valve D1 via the pipe g1 and to the cut-off control valve z via the pipe g. The switch combination is shown switched on. The mode of operation is as follows: To open the contact points of the switches in series, the control valve Sa is opened mechanically or electrically, possibly by remote control, so that compressed air comes out of the container a behind the piston c of the main valve, propelling it against the spring and the valve opens.
Compressed air now comes out of the compressed air tank a via the main valve and isolator e1 into the extinguishing chamber i4 to the blown contact point. The movable contact K1 is moved downwards against the spring action and the compressed air contained in the quenching chamber and the insulator flows between the separate contacts K, K1, extinguishes the existing switch-off arc and flows out into the atmosphere via Mi. At the same time, however, compressed air has entered via the main valve and the pipeline g1 behind the piston of the switch-off cylinder Za, whereby the opening of the cutting knife kx is initiated via the linkage h, n.
During these processes, however, the compressed air acting on the piston c is through the openings CI. stepped in front of piston c,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
And after a certain piston travel, a certain pressure equalization has set in on both sides of the piston, so that the main valve closes slightly under the action of the piston spring.
In order to be able to complete the opening movement of the separating knife kl despite the main valve being closed, the tube g is provided, which is connected directly behind the shut-off piston sa and supplies compressed air directly to the piston of the shut-off cylinder à. Since the arrangement of the additional pipe g on the shut-off cylinder allows the compressed air from pipe g to reach the extinguishing chamber dl via the space behind the piston of the shut-off cylinder Za and pipe gl after the cutting knife has been released and possibly be blown into the atmosphere a check valve can be provided in the tube gl.
In order to further prevent the cutting knife 7; at the beginning of the opening movement, through which compressed air flowing directly into the opening cylinder za via the pipe g is opened before the blown contact is opened, there is a bolt on the piston of the opening cylinder Za that shuts off the pipe g z attached. The length of the closure of the opening of the pipe g brought about by the bolt z must be dimensioned so that the blown switching point K, K1 is actuated before the cutting knife k1.
In the event that the mating contact of the separating knife kl located on the moving contact Xi of the blown contact point is designed so that the separating knife is released by the opening movement of the first-mentioned contact, the connecting tube i with the check valve is unnecessary.
The shut-off of the opening in the shut-off cylinder tube g can also be done in a way other than that shown, for. B. by connecting the pipe to the cylinder jacket, the pipe opening also being released depending on the piston travel.
Instead of providing tube yi with a check valve and tube g with a control pin, as in the exemplary embodiment, a slide control can also be provided for both tubes, which alternately opens the inlet openings of the tubes in the shut-off cylinder.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Electropneumatic control for single- or multi-phase circuit breakers with at least two contact points connected in series, at least one of which is blown and closes again automatically, while the other is a simple air separation point using one on-and-off cylinder for the simple air separation point and a switching valve on the pressure vessel for the inflated contact point, which are controlled by valves, characterized in that the drive cylinder (se) for switching on the simple separation point (kl) via the associated electrically controlled valve (se) with the pressure vessel (a) directly connected, while the drive cylinder (s)
for switching off the simple cut-off point is connected to the switching valve (b) and is fed with compressed air directly via this or indirectly via the associated electrically controlled valve (sa).
