Es sind bereits Gamaschen (auch mit eingesetztem elastischem Zwickel) bekannt mit einem Hakenverschluss, dessen Verschlusslinie vom Gamaschenschaft über den Knöchel bis zur Fussspitze verläuft.
Bei diesen Gamaschen konnte ein sattes Anliegen zufolge der geschweiften Form der in der Verschlusszone sich überlappenden Teile nicht erreicht werden.
Dieser Nachteil ist bei einer gleichfalls bekannten Art von Gamaschen dadurch vermieden, dass ein seitlich und über die ganze Länge von Gamaschenschaft und Unterteil geradlinig verlaufender Schnürverschluss vorgesehen ist, und die Erfindung bezieht sich ausschliesslich auf Gamaschen mit dieser Anordnung des Verschlusses. Während aber bei diesen bekannten Gamaschen über die ganze Länge von Schaft und Unterteil sich erstreckende elastische Streifen (Einsätze) unmittelbar neben dem Schnürverschluss angeordnet sind, sind bei den Gamaschen gemäss der Erfindung die als Zwickel (vom oberen Schaftrand bis zum Knöchel) ausgebildeten Einsätze so angeordnet, dass sie bei geschlossener Gamasche dem Schnürverschluss im wesentlichen diametral gegenüberliegen.
Zufolge dieser Anordnung des elastischen Zwickels liegen beim Schliessen des Schnürverschlusses im Gamaschenschaft ungefähr gleich grosse Stoffteile zwischen je einer Seite des Zwickels und der Verschlusszone. Hiedurch wird erreicht, dass der Gamaschenschaft sowohl vorne gegen das Schienbein als auch rückwärts gegen die Waden gut passend anliegt.
Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht ein Ausführungsbeispiel der erfindungsgemässen Gamasche.
Es bezeichnet 1 den Gamaschenschaft, der in üblicher Weise unten entsprechend der Schuhform ausgebildet ist, eine Schlaufe 2 aufweist und an der Fussaussenseite mittels einer über Haken 4 im Zickzack geschlungene Schnur J (eines Lederriemens od. dgl.) verschlossen wird. This disadvantage is avoided in an equally known type of gaiter in that a lace fastener is provided that runs in a straight line over the entire length of the gaiter shaft and lower part, and the invention relates exclusively to gaiters with this arrangement of the fastener. However, while in these known gaiters elastic strips (inserts) extending over the entire length of the shaft and lower part are arranged directly next to the lace fastener, in the gaiters according to the invention the inserts formed as gussets (from the upper edge of the shaft to the ankle) are arranged in this way that when the gaiter is closed they are essentially diametrically opposite the lace closure.
As a result of this arrangement of the elastic gusset, when the lace fastener is closed in the gaiter, pieces of fabric of approximately the same size lie between each side of the gusset and the closure zone. This ensures that the gaiter socket fits snugly against the shin at the front and against the calves at the back.
