Self-sealing chamber furnace closure.

the front surface of the frame c itself, but rather on a sheet metal frame f of approximately U-shaped
Cross-section which is attached to the furnace frame c with bends g of the lateral longitudinal edges and which advantageously contains a filling of slag wool or the like. On the bends g bars p can be arranged which support the frame f laterally. The frame f is expediently formed from elastic sheet metal, which itself has a sealing effect. In addition, it is supported in its sealing effect by the filling 7, which, however, cannot be pushed away from the work site by the pressure frame.
This device also has the advantages that the iron-on-iron seal offers because of the avoidance of the soft packing material at the pressure points. On the other hand, despite the iron-on-iron seal, the small unevenness at the sealing points are largely compensated for, so that the device itself has a completely sealing effect. It does not matter whether excretions can arise at the leaky points, which have a sealing effect. The sheet metal edge d, which connects the pressure frame e to the door body b, is expediently made from corrugated sheet metal.
According to the invention, the pressure frame e itself is connected to the adjusting screws t in such a way that it can not only be pressed by them but also withdrawn in order to be able to loosen individual points and tighten others again. For this purpose, the screw bolts receive, for example, near the end a groove k through which a bolt m passes, which thus does not prevent the rotation of the visual screw bolt, but connects it longitudinally to the sleeve m of the pressure frame. Abutments q are attached to the door body b. which rest against projections on the furnace frame c and absorb part of the pressure in the closed position.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Self-sealing chamber furnace closure with sealing by a pad between the furnace frame surface and the door edge, characterized in that the pad (f) consists of a flexible. elastic sheet-metal strip of approximately U-shaped or trapezoidal cross-section, the sheet-metal strip with the help of bends. (g) its longitudinal edges are attached to the furnace frame.
