   Um eine gesteigerte Empfindlichkeit der Photozellen im langwelligen Ultraviolettgebiet zu erzielen, wurde im Stammpatent vorgeschlagen, eine Kathodenlegierung bestehend aus Zink, Kupfer, Blei, Eisen und Kadmium oder Antimon in folgender Zusammensetzung anzuwenden :
1. Zink   96-45-87-8%, Blei 0-5-2%,   Eisen   0-02-0-06%,   Kupfer 3-10%. 



   2. Zink   85-27-97-62%, Blei 0-3-2-5%,   Eisen   0-07-0-18%, Kupfer 0-1-0-5%, Nickel 2-12%.   



   3. Zink 85-78-96-335%, Blei   0-5-2%,   Eisen   0-06-0-2%,   Kupfer 3-10%, Kadmium   0-1-0-2%,   Antimon   0-005-0-02%.   



   4. Zink 83-25-96-515%, Blei   0-3-2-5%, Eisen 0-07-0-18%,   Kupfer 0-01-0-05%, Nickel   2-12%, Kadmium 0. 1-0. 2%,   Antimon   0-05-0-02%.   



   Es hat sich nun in der Weiterentwicklung dieser Zellen erfindungsgemäss ergeben, dass man in der Empfindlichkeitsgrenze für das langwellige Ultraviolett noch weiter im Sinne der grösseren Wellenlängen gelangen kann, wenn man als Zusatz zu den in den Ausführungsbeispielen genannten Legierungen metallisches Kalzium beimengt. Wird die Menge des mitlegierten Kalziums erhöht, so gelingt es, die Ansprechgrenze der Photozelle von 320 bis gegen 400   jazz   aber auch darüber hinaus zu erstrecken. Die optimale Empfindlichkeit der Spektralkurve der Photozelle liegt bei ungefähr 270   , die kurzwellige Ultraviolettempfindlichkeitsgrenze, die im wesentlichen von dem verwendeten lichtdurchlässigen Material des Zellenkolbens abhängt, liegt bei ungefähr   240 it1. t.
