Platten oder Gegenstände aus Moos-bzw. Zellgummi.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Plates or objects made of moss or. Cellular rubber.
The subject of the invention is a method for the production of plates or other objects from sponge or. Foam rubber or cellular rubber. Sponge or Foam rubber has the advantage that it is extremely soft, pliable and elastic, but the disadvantage that it has an extremely high absorbency for moisture and its spongy surface is not easily capable of patterning. This means that foam rubber is excluded for such purposes,
EMI1.1
Solid rubber into consideration, which can also have any pattern, e.g. B. by embossing, application of patterns in colors, etc. can be subjected. The invention is based on the finding that by
Association of sponge or. Cellular rubber z. B.
Plates with smooth rubber sheets or gu mmierte fabrics or the like, the sponge rubber sheet covered with such smooth rubber sheets or the like before or during vulcanization either on one side or on both sides or over the entire surface and connected by an adhesive or otherwise can, the advantages of the sponge or. Cellular rubbers can also be used for the production of smooth, randomly patterned plates, whereby the covering of the sponge rubber plate with smooth if necessary patterned. B. plates provided with embossing or color patterns the sponge rubber or sponge rubber body gains cohesion and is protected against the ingress of dust and moisture.
Of course, the assignment can also be combined with the pattern in a device. The invention is now also based on the finding that a sponge or. Cellular rubber sheet or such a body can also be formed directly on one or both sides with a smooth, optionally patterned or embossed surface, u. between the fact that the cell or. Sponge rubber plate before or during vulcanization in smoothing devices, such as between press plates, calenders or the like, whereby the plates, rollers or the like can also be patterned, smoothed or vulcanized in the manner of Gaufrier calenders.
When carrying out the method, colors can also be applied to the surface in any pattern before or after vulcanization, for example sprayed on, and color patterns of any type can thus be achieved. Such one-sided or more appropriately two-sided smoothed cellular rubber or. Foam rubber sheets no longer have the character of foam rubber, but rather the appearance of solid rubber due to their smooth surface and can be patterned like this. Such plates according to the invention are suitable, for. B. as carpets, floor mats and. Like. The process of combining cellular rubber or.
Foam rubber sheets with smooth sheets can be designed in such a way that non-vulcanized or non-porous but fuel-mixed rubber compounds or corresponding mixtures are covered on one side or on both sides with a thin sheet of the same material, but which does not contain fuel, and then subjected to vulcanization is, wherein the cover plate or the cover plates are pressed by the development of the sponge and the resulting inflation against heating plates or rollers fixed at a suitable distance, which can have a smooth or patterned surface, and are connected to the sponge plate during the development of the same.
The process of smoothing cellular rubber or. Foam rubber sheets can be designed in such a way that a rubber compound mixed with fuel or a corresponding rubber compound between sheets or rollers, which can also have patterned surfaces, can also be achieved by applying light pressure using moderate heat or when using a mixture that vulcanizes sufficiently quickly normal temperature, whereby the surfaces are slightly scorched

and thus experience such a compression, which in the subsequent finished vulcanization prevents the breakthrough of the surfaces by the gases and causes the formation of a sufficiently tight outer surface or skin.
It is expedient to use rubber sleeves which, in addition to ultra-accelerators, contain a high level of softening agents, with compounds of non-volatile alkalis, such as sodium compounds, which do not develop gas until temperatures above 600 ° C.
Example: To 60 parts of raw rubber, at least 25%, that is 15 parts of softening agent, part of sulfur,: y4 parts of ultra accelerator, 2 y2 parts of activator, 11 parts of inert dry additives and 10 parts of a sodium compound as a propellant are added.
The raw rubber is expediently completely unnerved or rolled to death before the additives are incorporated, which ensures that the mixture is kept sufficiently propellant even in the vulcanized state, which means that the surfaces are pressed by the buoyancy of the gases to achieve a pore-free closed surface or to connect such sponge sheets to the cover sheets placed on one or both sides is particularly advantageous.
