Protective cover for rotatable X-ray tubes.

The invention relates to a protective cover for rotatable X-ray tubes with magnetic influence on the cathode ray beam. In the known protective cover for rotating X-ray tubes, the X-ray tube is rotatably mounted in the protective cover; To adjust the X-ray beam in the desired direction, however, the entire protective cover must be rotated.

Protective covers for non-rotatably arranged X-ray tubes have already been proposed, which consist of several mutually rotatable parts, in which, in order to adjust the X-ray beam in the desired direction, not the entire protective cover, but only part of the protective cover, generally at the same time as the X-ray tube, is rotated becomes.

According to the invention, the protective cover for a rotatable X-ray tube consists of several mutually rotatable parts so that only the part of the cover surrounding the anticathode is rotated to adjust the X-ray beam in the desired direction. This rotatable part of the casing is firmly connected to the magnet which effects the magnetic deflection of the cathode ray beam, so that the focal point always lies on the side of the conical or dome-shaped anticathode facing the window.

An embodiment of the new protective cover is shown in the figure in longitudinal section.

The protective cover consists of two parts 1 and 2 (made of insulating material) that pass through the bracket. are rigidly connected to one another, the bracket being attachable to a stand, for example by means of a pin 4. The X-ray tube 5 is rotatably supported in the protective cover by ball bearings 6 and 7.

The advantageously metal center piece 8 with the beam exit opening 9 is made rotatable about the axis common to the X-ray tube and the protective cover. The electromagnet 10 is fixedly connected to this rotatable central piece and is arranged in such a way that the cathode ray beam is always directed onto the side of the anode facing the window.
