Schutzeinrichtung für Mehrphasenstromkreise.
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

EMI4.3
Fig. 2 zeigt ein anderes Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
Fig. 3 zeigt eine weitere Ausführung der Erfindung.

Protective device for multi-phase circuits.
EMI1.1
In addition, a single-phase component occurs in every phase of any system. This component is the same size in all three phases and has the same phase position. The sum of this last component is identical to the total current of the three-phase system or to the zero point voltage of the system.
In the event of an error, the three components mentioned occur depending on the nature and location of the error, u. between the various possible errors the following results:
In the case of a three-phase short circuit, there is no earth fault current, and since the three currents are of the same size and offset by 120 relative to one another, the opposing components and the total current components are zero. The moving component represents the total resulting short-circuit current.
In the case of a simple short circuit, the total current component is zero because there is no earth connection, and only the synchronous and opposing components remain. These two components are of equal size, as are the two corresponding stress components.
In the case of a single earth fault, the concurrent, opposing and total current components form the resulting fault current. These three current components are equally large. The sum of the stress components is zero.
In the case of a double earth fault, the concurrent, counter-rotating and total current components occur.
The total fault current is the sum of these three components; the various voltage components are the same in this case.
To completely protect a three-phase transmission system, at least two relays have been proposed so far, which respond accordingly to the co-rotating and the opposing component of an electrical variable. As can be seen from the consideration of the individual error possibilities, the accompanying component occurs in every error case. It can only be used as an error criterion in the event of overload or three-phase short-circuit, since it is only in these cases that it shows an increase in size. In the case of faults other than a three-phase short circuit, the total fault current is made up of the components running in the same direction and in opposite directions and, if necessary, also from the total current component.
The need for two protective relays resulted from the fact that a single relay, which responds to the moving components, would have to respond to a lower voltage or current value of the moving component than occurs under normal operating conditions.
Such a relay would necessarily respond incorrectly if the load was asymmetrical. For this reason, a relay has been provided that responds to the moving components in the event of a three-phase short circuit or overload, and a second relay that responds to the opposing components for other fault conditions.
In order to isolate the parallel or opposing components of a multiphase system, resistor arrangements (artificial circuits) have hitherto been provided which are connected to the multiphase system via converters. If you consider the components of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
System with the same resistor arrangement, it is only necessary to swap the converter connections on the resistor arrangement. However, various artificial circuits have also come into use for the corresponding relays to separate the two components, and in many cases artificial circuits have also been incorporated into the construction of the corresponding relays.
The subject of the invention is a protective device for multiphase circuits. According to the invention, a single protective relay is used to protect against overload, short circuit, unbalanced load, etc., which is controlled by the rotating component and by the opposing component of an electrical variable, e.g. B. the current or the voltage of the circuit to be protected is excited. This relay is connected to a resistor arrangement which is used to monitor the symmetry of the system and which is coordinated in such a way that the co-rotating and opposing components of the electrical variable are brought to act on the protective relay with the aid of this resistor arrangement.
To explain the invention in more detail, it will be explained in comparison to the mode of operation of single-phase relays. In order to provide simple overcurrent protection, each phase of the
System can be connected to a single-phase relay. Each of these relays responds when the value of the
Current in the corresponding phase exceeds a certain value regardless of the value of the current in the other phase lines. It can be seen that such single-phase relays cannot be made more sensitive to faults between the phases than to normal three-phase relays
Load currents.
However, since it is desirable to have a lower response value in the event of faults between phases than with normal loads, the use of such single-phase relays is limited. The need to provide a relay in each phase also arises from this. that single-phase earth faults should be recorded.
By introducing relays that detect the components mentioned above, the limitations of single-phase relays have been overcome and lower response values have been made possible for the relays. Relays that respond to opposing components are used for simple short circuits and earth faults. Relays that respond to summation current can also be used for earth faults, while for protection against three-phase short circuits, relays that respond to the moving components can be used.
For each individual system, the value of the components of the current or the voltage that occur in the event of a fault can be determined by known mathematical calculation. It can be seen from this that the various relays that respond to the phase components in each system can be adapted to this value and that, as a result, better protection of the system is achieved than if ordinary single-phase current relays are used.
In the previous resistor arrangements for isolating the co-rotating or opposing components, no consideration was given to the relationships between the constants of the resistor arrangement in relation to the resistance characteristic of the circuit to be protected. According to the invention, controllable resistors are used in the resistor arrangement so that the constants of the resistor arrangement can be set. The size and phase position of the various components for the individual fault cases can be determined for each specific system using suitable calculation methods.
The constants of the resistor arrangement are then set in such a way that the proportions of the separated positive and negative components of the current or voltage correspond to the resistance characteristics of the monitored circuit.
The figures show exemplary embodiments of the invention. In FIG. 1, current transformers 12, 13, 14 and 16 are electrically arranged in the phase lines of a three-phase system 11. These converters are combined in pairs so that the secondary windings of converters 12 and 13 and, accordingly, those of converters 14 and 16 are cross-connected, thereby closing a circuit for the total current component so that this component cannot flow through the connected protective relay. The converter pairs 12, 13 and 14, 16 are connected in series with the winding 27 of a relay 17. An arrangement 18, 19 consisting of resistors is shunted to relay 17.
The point 23 of this resistor arrangement is connected by a conductor 24 to the point 26 between the windings of the transducer pairs lying in series. When energized, the relay 17 closes contacts 28, whereby any tripping circuit, not shown, is closed.
The resistors 18 and 19 have the same absolute values. The resistor 18 is composed of a purely ohmic resistor 21 and an inductance 22, while the resistor 19 is a purely ohmic one. The artificial circuit shown in the figure is similar to the previous circuits that have been used to detect the parallel or opposing components of current and voltage of a multi-phase system. In these artificial circuits, however, the current was phase-shifted by 60 in a leading or lagging sense compared to the voltage in a branch. According to the invention, the artificial switching is designed in such a way that this phase shift is deliberately not the previously usual value of 60, but of 55.50 and 450, for example.
In order to obtain this desired phase shift, the values of the inductance 22 and the ohmic resistor 21 are changed. that the voltage relative to the current flowing in branch 18 changes by an angle other than 60
EMI2.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of the opposing components, the current in the inductance 22 lags behind the applied voltage by 600.
If you look at the voltage vectors which occur at the resistor combination 18, 19 in a completely symmetrical current diagram, you can see that the voltage vectors match when the phase shift between current and voltage in the resistor branch 18 is 60, i.e. H. In this case, there is no residual voltage left that would cause a concurrent component of the current to act on the protective relay connected to the resistor arrangement.
However, if you set the angle in the resistor arrangement 18 so that the phase shift between current and voltage in this circle deviates from 60, so z. B. is only 55, the two voltage vectors do not coincide, and a residual voltage remains, which has an influence of the moving component in addition to the opposite component of the current on the relay.
The mode of operation and the degree of excitation of the relay used here is compiled for various system conditions in the following tables:

Table I shows the relay currents depending on the various possible combinations of the line current, which are related to the same unit of measure for the line current. In this table, # means the phase angle between voltage and current in branch 18 of the diagram shown in FIG.
EMI3.2
shown with normal current components of the line running along. In column 111 the relay currents are entered for normal opposing current components.
Column Tj contains the values for two-phase short-circuit currents, column IL-N the values for earth faults or single-phase short circuits to neutral or earth, and the current values that occur in the event of a double earth fault are entered in column IL + L-N.
In this table, two values are entered in each of the last three columns. These values limit the range of currents, the size of which depends on the one hand on the relative position of the fault and on the other hand on the connection of the current transformers that feed the protective relay. The mathematical calculation of the values compiled in the tables are based on the equation Z = e jd, R, where Z is the impedance of branch IS, R is the resistance of branch 19 and # the corresponding one

components are the same size.
The setting of the relay according to the requirements of a particular system is shown in Table II. The relative values of the line current at which the relay would respond to a specific set relay for the various error cases, which are listed in Table I, are written down here. The values in Table II are the reciprocal values of the values in Table I, which are multiplied for each row by a specific ratio so that the values in the second column corresponding to the specific angles f are equal to one another. Instead of the different relay settings, the same result is obtained by using current transformers with correspondingly higher transformation ratios.
In table I, the relay currents for the various fault cases are entered as a function of the phase shift angle tE, which can be set at the resistor 18 in FIG. The individual values in this table indicate the magnitude of the relay current, whereby the opposing component of the current is set to 1, which flows in full in the relay with a phase shift of 60. It can be seen from this table that the relay currents are relatively little influenced even with large percentage changes in the concurrent current component.
The values entered in Table II are intended to show the dependency of the relay current solely on the variable opposing component. For this purpose 550,

and 2-0. You can see from this table that the current strength of a relay changes sharply with the opposite current component. For example, the values for the case of a short circuit, provided that the accompanying component has the value 5'0, for the angles 55, 500 and 450 are respectively 0'43, 0'76 and 1'3. So both tables show that the current in the relay on the one hand

the co-rotating component I "is influenced.
It can be seen from this that the sensitivity of the relay to changes in the opposing component is very high.
If you connect the protective relay to a certain system, you have to consider the relative values of the fault currents for the opposing and total current components in comparison to the concurrent component of the current, which occur when a three-phase fault occurs. The current transformers are then selected so that they give the correct response value of the relay in relation to the normal current.
Fig. 2 shows another embodiment of the invention. Here, with the corresponding phase lines of a three-phase system 21, current transformers 32,. 33 and 34 are electrically connected, the secondary windings of which are in series with corresponding windings 43, du and 46, which are arranged on a core 42. Another winding 47 is located on the core, which is in series with the excitation winding 49 of a relay 48.
A resistor arrangement 36, which consists of a variable capacitance 35 and an ohmic resistor 39, is located parallel to the winding 43. Parallel to winding 44 is a purely ohmic resistor 37 and parallel to winding 46 is a resistor arrangement 38, which consists of a variable inductance 40 and an ohmic resistor 41.
The windings 43, 44 and 46 and the resistor arrangement 36, 37 and 38 are set so that the current in the windings 4, 3, 44 and 46 has a phase shift in the sense of leading or lagging with respect to the current in the corresponding current transformers 38,. 33 and. 34 receives. If the power factors of the resistances of coils 43, 44 and 46 are identical to the resistances of the
EMI4.4
In this case, the composition of the fluxes generated by the windings 43, 44 and 46 causes a resultant flux in the core 42, which induces a voltage in the winding 47. If the resistor arrangements 36, 37 and 38 had the same power factor, the winding 49 of the relay would only be excited in accordance with the total current component and not in accordance with the components running in the same direction and in opposite directions. By changing the capacitance: 15, the power factor of the resistor arrangement 36 can be made smaller than that of the winding 43.
Correspondingly, by changing the inductance 40, the power factor of the resistor arrangement 38 can be made higher than the power factor of the winding 40. In this way, it is possible to produce a leading current in winding 43, an in-phase current in winding 44 and a lagging current in winding 46. When such a phase shift is set, the excitation winding 49 of the relay is excited as a function of the concurrent and opposing components of the current.
By changing the phase shift, it is possible to make the relay 48 more sensitive to components of the current running in the opposite direction than to components running in the same direction, without significantly influencing the sensitivity of the relay to total current components.

In each special case, the values of concurrent, opposing and total current components that result from the various possible errors must be considered in order to set the resistor arrangements correctly. 6, 37 and 38. If a phase shift of about 100 is set in the leading and trailing sense, the relay 48 responds to three-phase short circuits as well as to other errors. The operation of this device is essentially the same as that of the device shown in detail in FIG.
Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of the invention. Here the secondary windings of the current transformers 32, 3, and 34 are connected in star, the star point is connected by a conductor 45 to one end of each of the windings 4, 3, 44 and 46. The other connections of these windings are connected to corresponding free ends of the current transformer secondary windings. The windings 43, du and 46 are applied to the core 51 of a device 50 which contains this core 51 and a relay 52 which has a rotatable armature 53. The resistor assemblies 86, 87 and 88 correspond to resistors with the same numbers in FIG. 2.
In this circuit, the armature 58 is moved as a function of the current components that come from the system. 31 have been segregated.
In the exemplary embodiments, only devices are shown by which the current components of a multiphase system are separated. The invention can be used in the same way for detecting the stress components. The invention can be applied in a corresponding manner to any earthed or ungrounded multi-phase system. Instead of the resistance combinations of variable capacitance and ohmic resistance or of variable inductance and ohmic resistance, as indicated in FIGS. 2 and 3 for generating the phase shift. other combinations that produce the same effect can be used.
