1. Kontinuierliche Erzeugung eines nach Entfernung der Kohlensäure wasserstoffreichen Gases ;
2. Ersatz der für die Tiefkühlung erforderlichen Verdichtung des Rohgases durch die einfachere und wesentlich billigere Verwendung eines Vergasungsmittels, das sieh aus grossen Mengen gespannten Dampfes und kleinen Mengen komprimierten Sauerstoffes zusammensetzt ;
3. Bei der Erzeugung des für die Vergasung erforderlichen Sauerstoffes aus Luft durch Kompressionsverfahren kann der gleichzeitig anfallende Stickstoff, zusammen mit dem Wasserstoff des Gases zur synthetischen Erzeugung von Ammoniak oder andern Stickstoffverbindungen verwendet werden ;
4.

By adding catalytically active additives, the effect can be increased
Hydrogen and carbonic acid formation and reduced carbon oxide formation can still be improved.
Since the gas is under a higher pressure of e.g. B. 20 Atü, the condensation of the water vapor contained in it can take place at a higher temperature. This can be surface or
Injection cooler can be used. A medium pressure steam is generated from the condensate, which z. B. is compressed to the gasification pressure by means of a steam jet compressor and fed to the gas generator.
After washing out the carbonic acid, e.g. B. with pressurized water and subsequent chemical fine purification of carbonic acid, the gas can be fed into the freezer and there the gas can be broken down and the hydrogen separated. The removal of the other components of the gas from the hydrogen is particularly advisable if the hydrogen is to be used for hydrogenation purposes. For the known processes for the synthetic production of alcohols and hydrocarbons, the gas can often be sufficiently enriched in hydrogen, even without deep-freezing, to be directly subjected to the catalytic conversion.
Because of the higher carbonic acid content of the raw gas produced in the process, the carbonic acid can also be separated out by deep freezing, thus avoiding the hitherto customary pressurized water washing.
When generating the oxygen required for gasification from air by compression, which is done in a known manner, the nitrogen that is omitted can be used together with the hydrogen of the gas that was generated according to the invention for the synthetic production of ammonia and other nitrogen compounds.
The advantages of the present process compared to the previously known process for generating a hydrogen gas for the purposes of hydrogenation or synthesis are therefore:
1. Continuous generation of a hydrogen-rich gas after removal of the carbonic acid;
2. Replacement of the compression of the raw gas required for deep freezing by the simpler and considerably cheaper use of a gasification agent which is composed of large amounts of compressed steam and small amounts of compressed oxygen;
3. When the oxygen required for gasification is produced from air by compression processes, the nitrogen produced at the same time can be used together with the hydrogen in the gas for the synthetic production of ammonia or other nitrogen compounds;
4th
The cooling of the raw gas, which can be carried out at high pressure, makes it possible to largely recover the undecomposed water vapor as medium-voltage vapor.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Process for the production of hydrogen-rich gases for hydrogenation purposes u. Like. By gasification of fuels by means of oxygen or oxygen-enriched air mixed with water vapor, optionally with the addition of carbonic acid and using pressures of 3 atm. and above, for example from 5 to 20 atm., characterized in that the shortened reaction time between fuel and gasifying agent, i.e. H. In particular, by increasing the gasification capacity to more than 400 anhydrous coal per square meter of shaft cross-section and hour, a gas consisting primarily of hydrogen and carbonic acid is generated, which together does not contain more than 25% methane and carbon monoxide.
