Overcurrent protection for multi-voltage transformers.
To protect transformers, numerous circuits have been developed which are essentially based on the comparison of the current intensities or the powers on both sides of the transformer. The invention is concerned with the task of making multi-wave transformers, i. H. that is, transformers with at least three windings to be protected selectively. To distinguish between internal and external errors, the energy directions in the connected lines are monitored. The occurrence of overcurrent or the breakdown of the resistance is also regarded as a characteristic of an error and is used to trigger a trigger relay. In order to implement the invention, a multi-winding transformer receives energy direction relays in all lines that lead to the windings.
If a fault occurs in the transformer, the energizing relays only activate those energy direction relays that, for example, belong to windings carrying overcurrent. Only the responsive energy direction relays decide whether the fault is in the transformer or outside. Power flowing into the transformer is referred to below as reverse power and power flowing away from the transformer is referred to as forward power.
The energy direction relays are equipped with contacts in such a way that the so-called forward contacts are closed with forward power and the reverse contacts with reverse power. All forward contacts on the one hand and all reverse contacts on the other hand are grouped together in such a way that tripping cannot take place unless at least one direction relay detects reverse power, ie. H. its reverse contact closes. On the other hand, no shutdown occurs as soon as only one of the responsive directional relays detects forward power.
According to the invention, this can be carried out in such a way that a circuit running over all parallel-connected reverse contacts for actuating the tripping device is routed via an interruption point which is opened as soon as a responsive energy direction relay detects forward power. For this purpose, a circuit for the excitation coil of an auxiliary relay, which opens the aforementioned interruption point in the common line of the reverse contacts, runs over the parallel-connected forward contacts of the direction relays.
The figures, which represent exemplary embodiments, serve to explain the invention.
In Fig. 1, a three-winding transformer is represented by the three circles I, II. III. A wire harness continues from each of these windings. These line strands, which are three-phase in the three-phase network, are numbered 1, 2 and 3 in the figure. The cable strands have shut-off points 10, 20 and 30, which can be opened by release coils 11, 21 and 31, respectively. From each of the

Special voltage transformers are to be provided for each line of cables. If, in the event of a fault in the transformer L II, III, overcurrent occurs only in wiring harness 1, this causes the overcurrent relay 13 to respond, which in turn causes a timing relay 15 to respond.
Relay 15 has a pre-contact and a main contact. The auxiliary magnet 16 of the energy direction relay 14 receives power from the local battery via the pre-contact, with the result that its hinged armature 17 against the contacts 18, 19

line 2, occurs, this is an indication that a fault has arisen not in transformer I, II, III, but outside of the transformer. The. Shutdown of the transformer is then locked.
The processes in the relays 13, 14, 15, 110 described above do not change anything. The following switching occurs in the corresponding relays 23, 24, 25, 202: Relay 23 closes its contact.
Relay 25 closes its pre-contact, via which the folding magnet 26 of the energy direction relay 24 receives current. The insulating plate 210 of the directional relay 24 has taken up such a position that contact 28 S receives current, while contact 29 is isolated from the hinged armature 27. Contact 201 gets just like contact. 101 of the direction relay 14 with each actuation of the direction relay connection with the positive pole of the local battery.
In contrast to relay 102, auxiliary relay 202 is not energized because contact 29, unlike contact 19, is not connected to the positive pole of the local battery. As a result, a current flows via contact 201 from the positive pole of the local battery via 27, 201, contact 203, which remains in the rest position, and the winding of the relay 106 to the negative pole of the local battery.
Relay 106 is thus energized and opens its contact 104. As a result, the circuit that was closed in the previous case from the positive pole of the local battery via the hinged armature 17, contact 101, contact 103, contact 707 to relay 105, is interrupted at 704. As a result, relay 705 does not respond.
EMI2.3
and 25, as already mentioned, provided with a main contact. Its delay time is selected to be greater than the delay time of the line protection relay closest to the transformer.
As explained in the two previous fault cases, the protective device also works if the fault has arisen, for example, on the first or third line strand. It is an advantage of the invention that it is irrelevant for the operation of the protective device whether several lines can supply energy to the fault location or only one. It is also immaterial. how many windings the transformer to be protected has. The protective device has the great advantage that it can be expanded as required without having to accept that any circuits have to be routed through a growing number of contacts in series.
The peculiarity of the circuit is that it only switches off that line which has fault energy, i.e. H. Reverse energy, leads and its associated trigger relay, for example overcurrent relay, has come into operation. If the requirement is that, in the event of a fault in the transformer, not only the line feeding the fault, but also all lines that can possibly lead energy to the fault location are switched off, then the modification of the invention shown in FIG. 2 is recommended.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 basically contains the same relays as the arrangement according to FIG. 1. In the case of the energy direction relay, on the other hand, it is assumed that the energy direction relay indicates reverse power in every case in which a forward power of a certain magnitude does not occur.

trigger the response of the direction relay R1.
The disconnection does not take place if there is forward power in a single line strand of such a level that the insulating plate of one of the direction relays R, jss and R3 is brought into a position in which it locks the associated reverse contact, i.e. H. prevents its connection to the positive terminal of the local battery. A circuit to excite the relay 106 is then established via the contact 103, 203 or 303, as described in connection with FIG. 1, so that the excitation circuit for the relay 105 is interrupted at 104.
In the event of a very close short circuit, the energy direction relays may lack the voltage so that they cannot adjust their insulating plate. In the last-described embodiment according to FIG. 2, this always has the effect that the insulating plate is in the position shown, so that disconnection is not prevented. In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, however, in which the insulating plates of the directional relay are in the middle position in the event of a complete breakdown of the voltage, both the forward contacts and the reverse contacts are closed by the hinged armature of the directional relay switched on by the overcurrent relay.
This also energizes the associated auxiliary relays 102, 202 and 302. Each of these has the effect that, via the reverse contact of its directional relay, a circuit is created to excite the relay 105, while at the same time the excitation of the auxiliary relay 106 is made impossible by the contacts 103, 203. This ensures the tripping of those line sections whose overcurrent relays have responded. The timing relays 15, 25 and 35 can also have time settings or can also be current-dependent, voltage-dependent or current and voltage-dependent, for example, impedance timing relays. The protective device according to the invention is also suitable for protecting network nodes without a multi-winding transformer, e.g. B. also for busbar systems.
