Control device for the operation of portable chainsaws.
In the case of portable chainsaws, the operation of the motor and saw should be regulated in such a way that the worker does not first have to release the handles that are specially arranged for correct handling of the chainsaw. The man at the motor side not only has to carry or hold the saw, but also make the cut at the same time, i.e. move the saw with the motor in a very specific way. These requirements are taken into account by the invention in such a way that one of the handles can be rotated about its axis and that by rotating it simultaneously or successively, possibly with different lengths of action, the control elements for the operation of the motor and saw, e.g. B. gas supply and clutch are operated.
The drawing shows an example of an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
1 shows the top view, FIG. 2 shows the side view of the device as seen from the cylinder side, FIG. 3 shows a section through the coupling and FIG. 4 shows a detail (coupling lever between handle and saw coupling).
The regulation of the gas supply to the cylinder and the coupling of the saw to the crankshaft 4 are carried out jointly by one of the carrying handles 26, 8. This handle 26 is carried by an arm 27 attached to the fuel tank 28 and is rotatable about its axis; he wears a thumb 29 which, when the handle is turned, hits a stop (stud screw) 30 of an angle lever 31, 32 which is pivotably mounted at 33. The arm 32 of the lever includes the support bearing. 34 and actuates the on the crankshaft 4 displaceable but not rotatable part 35 of a rotatable on this shaft, connected to the drive sprocket 36 of the saw friction clutch 31. The part 35 of the clutch is pressed by a spring 38 against the cone of the part 37, see above that the saw is coupled to the crankshaft 4 in the normal state.
The handle 26 is also articulated to the gas valve 43 of the motor by a linkage 40, 41, 42 in such a way that a rotation of the handle also causes a rotation of the gas valve and regulates the gas supply.
The operation of the device is as follows: If the saw is to be carried to the next tree after the cut has been completed, it is necessary to let the engine run more slowly and to switch off the saw in order to protect the workers from harm in the event of a fall. This is done in that the worker on the motor side, without letting go of one of the two handles 8 and 26, by which he is holding the saw during cutting, turns the handle 26 so far that the thumb 29 returns the lever arm 31 by means of the stop 30 and presses the lever arm 32 against the coupling part 35. As a result, the cone 35 is pressed off the cone 37 and the saw is switched off. Simultaneously or in response to this, the linkage 40, 41 and 42 also adjusts the gas valve 43 so that the engine runs more slowly.
The effect of the rotary movement on the two control elements 35, 37 and 43 can be of different duration.
