EMI1.1
There are spinners, which work continuously and whose drum rotating at high speed is automatically emptied intermittently, in various designs already known. Such extractors for uninterrupted operation with intermittent automatic emptying are also no longer new. The double-conical drum of which the largest drum circle has openings for the exit of the heavier components of the centrifugal liquid to be thrown out, as well as closing elements for these openings, which are pressed against the openings from the inside by centrifugal force and are inevitably and centrally moved away from the openings for the purpose of emptying by control elements and whose control rod, which is used to move their control elements, is guided in an axial bore in the drum spindle.
The invention relates to further configurations of slingshots of this type. According to the invention, the gap-shaped outlet openings occupy almost the entire drum circumference and the control rod of the closing elements, which is inserted from below into a not completely through-going axial bore of the drum spindle, is actuated intermittently by means of cams of a cam disk that is periodically rotated by the main drive . This device enables the drum to be emptied of viscous sludge even at the highest speeds. without their balance being disturbed.
The subject matter of the invention is illustrated in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment: FIG. 1 shows a vertical section. 2 shows the view from the drive side with the cover removed, FIG. 3 shows the horizontal section along the line AB in FIG. 1, FIG. 4 shows the view of the drum and FIG. 5 shows the cross section through the drum along the line CD in FIG. 1 ; FIG. 6 shows, on a larger scale, a section along the line E-F of FIG. 3, viewed in the direction of the arrow 8 '; FIG. 7 is a horizontal section through the machine parts shown in vertical section in FIG. 6 in a later stage of machine operation.

can. A belt transmits the power to a belt pulley 3. The drive belt pulley 3 runs loosely on the countershaft 6 of the slingshot.
A friction clutch with jaws 4 brings about the entrainment of the fixed disk 5, which is keyed on the countershaft just like the helical gear 7 and the worm 8. The helical gear 7 drives the drum axis 9. The worm 8 drives the helical gear 10, which runs loosely on the control shaft 15 with its long hub 11. A cam disk 12 is pushed over the hub 11 of the helical wheel 10 and is carried along by means of a wedge 71. The cam disk has five cams of different heights next to each other (Fig. 1). The cam disk is displaceable on the hub 11 on which a driver piece 13 is keyed. The eccentric 14 and the cam 38 are keyed on the control shaft 15; it is mounted in the two bearing bushes 16 and 17.
Since the helical gear 10 with the worm 8 and the helical gear 7 with the centrifugal spindle 9 are in constant engagement, as soon as the centrifuge is started,

Cam 38 stand still until further notice. The countershaft 6 makes about 800 revolutions per minute, and since the transmission ratio of the helical gear 7 to the centrifugal spindle 9 is equal to 1: 5, the spindle with its drum will therefore make 4000 revolutions per minute. The wedged on the countershaft 6 worm 8 is catchy, the helical gear 10 has z.
B. 100 teeth; So the minute number of revolutions of the helical wheel 10 and the cam disk 12 including the driver piece 13 will be 800: 100, i.e. eight revolutions.
18 is a ratchet wheel which runs loosely on the bolt 36 and through the spring 19
EMI2.2
The lever arms 27, 28 and 29 consist of one piece and can move loosely on the bolt 36 (Fig. 3). The lever 28 carries the switching pawl 31. The lever 27 carries a roller 22 at its end. The spring 30 pulls the lever arms 27, 28, 29 so that the roller 22 always rests on the cam disk 12. With each revolution of the cam disk 12, one of its cams will press the lever 27 downwards and, depending on the height of the cam, advance the ratchet wheel 18 by one, two, three, four or five teeth. Since the ratchet wheel now has 200 teeth, the helical gear 10, or the cam disk 12 with the driver piece 13, will make 200 or fewer revolutions when the ratchet wheel makes one revolution.
Since the helical gear 10 now makes eight revolutions per minute, the ratchet wheel will, under the influence of the smallest cam 200: 8, i.e. every 25 minutes, make one revolution if two teeth are switched every 12.5 minutes, with three teeth every 8.35 minutes, with four teeth every 6.25 minutes and with five teeth one rotation every 5 minutes. Of course, other combinations are also possible.
It is only necessary to choose the height of the cams on the cam disk 12 accordingly, in order to connect more teeth of the ratchet wheel than just five with each revolution, if necessary; but you can also provide the ratchet with a different number of teeth.
A pawl 32 prevents the switching wheel 18 from going back at the moment in which the lever 27 runs off the cam. The arcuate armature 26 (FIGS. 1, 2 and 6-8) is carried by the eccentric 14 and can swing back and forth about the bolt 37. It has two lugs 67 and 68. The spring 23 always pushes the arm of the armature on the right in FIG. 6 outwards. As soon as the catch 20 on the ratchet wheel 18 comes into the area of the nose 67 of the armature, it takes the armature with it so that its third nose 25 slides down from the fixed bolt 24 provided on the housing.
Since the spring 23 now always presses the armature 26 outwards against the housing wall, the armature will migrate inwards on the opposite side (to the right in FIG. 6), with its nose 68 on the inevitably always rotating driver piece 13 rest until the same takes the nose 68 of the anchor through its nose 70. Since the armature is now connected to the eccentric 14 by bolts 37 and the eccentric 14 is keyed onto the control shaft 15. the eccentric including armature and control shaft is connected to the helical gear 10 and its hub 11 and make one revolution, d. H. Rotate until the nose 25 of the armature comes back into the area of the bolt 24, which pushes the armature inwards again (to the left in FIG. 6), whereby the nose 68 of the armature slides off the nose 70 of the driver piece 13 again .
So that the other lug 67 of the armature does not come into the area of the bolt 24, the two lugs 25 and 67 are offset from one another (FIGS. 3 and 7).
As already mentioned, the eccentric 14 is keyed onto the control shaft 15. The drum control cam 38 is also keyed on the same shaft (FIGS. 2 and 3). The front part of the
The eccentric is provided with a flat 39 on which the roller 69 of the feed control lever 33 (FIG. 2) runs, while the drum control cam 38 (FIGS. 2 and 3) actuates or depresses the lever 40 and thus the one arranged in the drum axis Control rod 41 (FIG. 1) pulls downwards, on the other hand, when this cam runs off, the spring 42 (FIG. 1) moves the control rod 41 back up into its rest position.
With the change lever 43, the cam piece 12 is moved back and forth (Fig. 1 and
The change lever 43 and the lever 44 are keyed onto the shaft 45. Five notches 46 allow precise setting of the five cams of the cam piece 12 while the machine is running.
When the centrifuge is started up, the drum is first brought to full speed and then the shut-off valve 47 is opened. The centrifugal liquid to be clarified passes at 48 through the round slide 49 and the inlet nozzle 50 in the direction of the arrow into the cavity 51 and from there through openings 52 (FIGS. 1 and 3), which are located just above the base 76
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
EMI3.1
Liquid leaves the drum at 53, arrives from there in the collecting tray 54 and leaves it through the nozzle 55 (FIGS. 1 and 2).
Depending on the sludge content of the liquid to be clarified, a higher or lower cam of the cam piece 12 is pushed under the lever 27 or under the ball bearing 22 by means of the change lever 43, but the drum is practically allowed to run until it is filled with sludge. As soon as the snapper 20 attached to the ratchet wheel 18 sets the armature 26 in motion, the control shaft 15 makes one rotation. Since the centrifuge now works periodically, the eccentric 14 closes the round slide 49 by means of the lever 33 and the bolt 34 with its linkage and interrupts the supply.
Immediately, the drum control cam 38 actuates the lever 40, which pulls the control rod 41 with the ring 56 connected to it downwards, so that by means of the rocker arm 57, the upper, lighter lever arm of which the slide 58 is movable in a slot 73, by pressing the pin 72 the slide 58 are operated. The sludge collected in the drum leaves the drum at 59 (FIGS. 1 and 5) and passes through the inclined plane of the collecting tray 60 in the direction of the arrow to the outlet opening 61, from where the solids are conveyed on by a screw conveyor or a conveyor belt.
As soon as the drum control cam 38 runs off the roller of the lever 40, the spring 42 pushes the drum control rod 41 with its ring 56 upwards, and the slides 58 close the emptying slots of the drum again under the action of the centrifugal force.
The lever 33 then slides from its ring path back into the flattened area and assumes the position shown in FIG. 2, the round slide being moved back into the position indicated in FIG. 1, so that the supply is opened again and the game starts again begins.
The centrifugal drum consists of the upper half 62 and the lower half 63, which are screwed together and form a unitary whole with the drum spindle 65.
The slots provided for emptying on the largest circumference of the drum (FIGS. 4 and 5) are distributed over the entire circumference of the drum, and the exit cross-section is only interrupted by the flange for receiving the screws 64 that hold the two drum halves together . The control rod 41 runs in an axial bore 74 of the drum spindle. The bore 74 is separated from the bore 51, which is used for the supply of liquid, by a base 75.
The slides 58 can be provided at their outer ends with an elastic sealing material which enables the drum to be hermetically sealed. The slide 58 and the control rod 41 with its ring 56 and the rocker arm 57 rotate at the same speed as the drum. Due to the high centrifugal force of their masses, the slides 58 are pressed with great pressure against the drum wall or against the sealing surfaces, so that hermetic sealing is ensured.
There is no need for any external force to seal the slide; consequently, the drum rotates completely freely both during the clarification process and during emptying. which fact ensures that the drum runs smoothly even at the highest speeds. The slide 58 can be made of light metal, e.g. B. made of aluminum or its alloys.
The rocker arms 57 are made of steel and rotate freely around the bolts 66. The lower arm 71 of the rocker arms 57 is heavier than the upper arm 78. The weight ratio of their lower arm is compared to the upper arm. which acts on the slide 58, selected so that the contact pressure of the slide is sufficiently large. By increasing or decreasing the mass of the lower arm of the rocker arm, the contact pressure of the slide 58 can be selected as desired. When the slide is opened, i.e. when it is pulled inwards by the automatic control, the entire centrifugal force is not applied to the slide. but only the difference to be overcome, which results from the centrifugal force of the lower arm of the rocker arm 57 to the upper arm plus slide 58.
The force to be used by the control mechanism for emptying the drum will consequently only be a fraction of the force which would be required without this weight compensation.
