The stop relay can be controlled in the same way as with the electromagnetic relays used up to now, that is, either by a timer, by a relay dependent on the load or by any other suitable control device.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in a perspective view on an electricity meter.
A plate 1 made of insulating material carries two contact plates 2, 3, on the one hand by means of screws 4, 5 with a secondary winding 6 of a transformer 7 located in the control circuit and on the other hand by means of screw terminals 8, 9 with corresponding external ones
EMI2.1
Bimetal spirals 12, 13 are fastened in a suitable manner, such as by screwing, riveting, soldering, to an axis of rotation 16 made of electrically conductive material. The bimetallic spirals 12, 13 connected one behind the other in this way in the secondary circuit of the transformer 7 provide an advantageous and simple connection to the control circuit.
On the axis of rotation 16 there is also a locking lever. ! 7 arranged, which acts on a recess 18 having counter disk 19 of the electricity meter. Instead of the recess 18 in the counter disk 19, a bore, a stop or a tab bent from the material can also be used, which cooperate in a suitable manner with the locking lever.
When the control circuit is closed, for example by a time switch or a load current relay, after a certain warm-up time the bimetal spirals 12, 13 will contract in the direction of the arrow, due to a suitable material composition of the bimetallic metals, and thereby a rotation of the shaft 16 and thus a pivoting of the locking lever 17 effect. The locking lever 17 will then come to rest on the edge of the counter disk 19 and finally fall into the recess 18 of the counter disk 19.
In this case, since the counter disk 19 is now at a standstill, the energy consumed will not be recorded. Only after a certain period of time has elapsed or after a certain load has been exceeded is the control circuit opened again by the suitable switching means, as a result of which the bimetallic spirals 12, 13 cool down and return to their original position. The counter disk 19 is then released again by the swiveling of the locking lever 17 which occurs here. The amount of electricity consumed is then registered again by the meter.
The arrangement can of course also be made in such a way that the counter disk 19 is blocked by the blocking lever 17 when the bimetallic spirals 12, 13 are cold, i.e. when the bimetal spirals are not excited, and the blocking is removed when the bimetal spirals 12, 13 are heated.
