Unwinding device for resilient measuring tapes with a curved cross-section.
The invention relates to a retractor for resilient measuring tapes with a curved
Cross-section that seek to assume an extended position under the action of the spring. The retractor combines with the greatest simplicity and low number of parts and low weight and space requirements compared to known embodiments, for. B. according to the American patent no. 1402589 its advantages without having its disadvantages in that it forms a perfect cylinder without protruding parts and can therefore be conveniently housed in the pocket and thus provided with a brake without using a second outer box becomes.
The Aufrollvorriehtung according to the invention is shown in the drawing in Fig. 1 in section in elevation and in Fig. 2 in a view in plan.
The measuring tape 2, which is resilient against the outer circumference, lies rolled up in the cylindrical can 1.
The box is open at the top and provided with a drawn-in edge, while the bottom has an indentation for receiving the push button 9. This bulge is drilled through and the edge of this hole encompasses the guide bridge 3, on which the measuring tape emerging obliquely upwards tangentially to its running inner turn is guided in such a direction that it can escape automatically. The can is mounted with its bore on the guide bridge, which remains fixed when the tape is unrolled while the can rotates.
EMI1.1
Connected above to form a button bolt 4, in which the cylindrical extension 8 of the push button 9 engages.
In a slot of the extension 8 and fastened therein by a split pin 7, the brake 6, formed from a flat spring or the like and pressing on the arched part of the can, is located which, when the button 9 with the extension 8 is pushed by the spring S. is pressed down, the can brakes and prevents it from rotating in relation to parts 4, 8 and 9 and the bridge 3 connected to them. If, on the other hand, the brake 6 is lifted from the bulge of the can 1 by finger pressure on the part 4 and the button 9, this can rotate automatically by the stretching of the measuring tape when the measuring tape emerges obliquely upwards from the can past the guide bridge 3. When the pressure is released, braking occurs again immediately.
The device, which is completely cylindrical on the outside, consists of the measuring tape and the can only of the bridge 3, the interlocking pressure parts 4, 8 and 9, the spring 5 and the brake 6 fastened by a split pin 7 and thus forms a significant simplification in terms of design and handy shape compared to known measuring tape boxes.
