Light signaling device with reserve lamp, especially for crossings.
EMI1.1
To achieve lamp when the main lamp does not appear or goes out, according to the present invention the main lamp is connected in series with a resistor to a transformer in the manner of a Wheatstone bridge circuit and the reserve lamp is connected to two points of the same potential of the bridge branches. The bridge is conveniently between the connection of the resistor with the main lamp and a corresponding point on the transformer.
It is not absolutely necessary that these connection points have absolutely the same potential; rather, it is sufficient if the potential difference is kept so small that, as a result of this voltage gradient, the current flowing through the reserve lamp is not so great that it causes the lamp to glow.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in the drawing using an example.
1 is the primary winding, 2 the secondary winding, of the transformer feeding the signal lamp 3. The lamp 3 is preceded by a resistor 4. One branches off from end 5 of this resistor

winding 2. Point 8 is chosen so that 5 and 8 have the same or approximately the same potential.
If the lamp 3 is on, the reserve lamp 7 is completely or almost completely currentless. If the lamp 3 goes out, the reserve lamp 7 receives current from the part of the secondary winding of the transformer lying between the points S and 9 via the resistor 4. Since the voltage available for supplying the reserve lamp 7 in series with a resistor 4 is less than the total secondary voltage of the transformer, which is available for supplying the main lamp in series with the same resistance, the reserve lamp must, if it is to be operated with normal voltage, its construction is dimensioned differently than the main lamp, d. H. their performance must be smaller.
Of course, their light intensity is reduced accordingly.
A contact 11 can also be provided in branch line 10, by actuating it when the red and green signals are present at the same time, a dependency between them can be brought about.
Instead of the transformer, a voltage divider with a tapping stage or an arrangement of batteries in a row, which can be tapped at the most suitable point, can also be used for this signaling device.
