Telegraphen- bzw. Ferndruck- (Schreib) Anlage.
B. Relais,
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Telegraph or remote printing (typing) system.
The invention relates to telegraph or remote printing (typing) systems in which the connection of the individual subscriber stations takes place by means of self-access dialing devices provided on one or more exchanges.
In such systems it was previously necessary to transmit the current impulses to break the connection via a special line not used during dialing or telegraphing operations in order to be able to distinguish between the current impulses for various purposes (dialing, telegraphing, voter reset pulses) that are present in the operation ) to be able to do.
In order to enable the resetting of the voters via the lines used for the dialing and telegraphing process, the resetting of the SA voters takes place according to the invention by means of impulses whose nature (e.g. current type, frequency) differs from that of the dialing -or telegraph currents are different.
This makes it possible to get by with only two cores of an ordinary telephone line, it being advisable, with regard to the telephone operation, to use audio frequency or subordinate traffic, which also allows multiple use of the lines.
The different nature of the reset currents can, for. B. can be achieved by using alternating current compared to direct current of the mentioned dialing or telegraphing currents. Alternating current can also be used for all the current pulses mentioned, but the alternating current used for resetting is of a different, preferably higher frequency. Furthermore, the difference can be expressed in that the reset pulse is selected to have a longer duration than the other two types of operating pulses.
If one takes into account that the telegraphing impulses are only of short duration and that for this purpose the armatures of the transmitting and receiving relays leave their rest position for a short time in order to go into the working position, a difference in the duration of the impulses can be achieved by the armature after the end of telegraph traffic, d. H. So, after returning to the rest position are permanently brought into the working position, whereby a continuous current pulse is given, which is used to trigger the reset relay and possibly other equipment z. B. a switching device dominating the drive motor is used. The anchors are therefore brought into a "false" rest position different from the real rest position.
Since these are mostly polarized relays, the armature remains in the wrong rest position even after the entire operating current has been switched off, and leaving this position when the current is switched on again can be used to trigger work processes on the receiving side. The switching of the relay from the wrong to the correct rest position is conveniently done by a z. B. when switching on the motor of the telegraph apparatus triggered capacitor current surge, which excites an auxiliary winding of the transmitter relay and flips its armature, whereby the receiving relay is reversed and a preselector is switched on. After completing this automatic preselection, the subscriber can then continue dialing with his dial.
In order to maintain the connection while the telegraph relay is in its real rest position or vibrates in time with the telegraph or dialing pulses, delay means, e.g. B. Relay,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
used, which, while the armature is in the wrong rest position, are de-energized and maintain the current circuit for the duration of the connection. The delay relay closes the circuit of the preselector for the duration of the connection and triggers the triggering device of the preselector and the other line selectors in a manner known per se when de-energized.
1 and 2 show exemplary embodiments of the invention, of which FIG. 1 shows a simplified and, for example, circuit diagram of a switching office according to the invention. Various transmission circuit systems are used in telegraphy. The main ones are the double grinding system (1), the duplex system (2) and the system for alternating operation.
However, what all systems have in common is the dissolution of the local circuit in four lines, one pair of which handle the traffic in one direction and the other pair the traffic in the opposite direction. A fifth asymmetrical wire is only used for subordinate purposes of the internal self-connection circuit. If you therefore run the selector device for four lines, all systems can be connected to the network and communicate with one another, as far as the connection in the S.A. office is concerned. In the drawing, the three systems 1, 2,:; accepted.
The subscriber station is indicated schematically in each case by transmitting relay 81 with contacts 81 and receiving relay E1 with contact e. The corresponding devices which are connected to the subscriber station by trunk lines L are designated by 82 and E2, respectively. The subscriber station 2 has the usual simulation N.
Are z. B. sent by subscriber 1 through a numbering device (not shown) present on the station, which can be designed in the manner customary with S.A. telephone systems, dialing pulses into lines a, b, the relay H1 is energized on the switching point. His

bars 3. In the usual way with S.A. voters, one of the contacts 1-3 is briefly excited via the contact row n and the C wires of the switching relay Pi each time one of the contacts is touched. Since it is designed as a delay relay, the relay P1 only responds when the brush remains on the selected contact.
If the selected line was occupied, the relay could not respond, since the switching relay of the occupied selector would be parallel to the newly added relay, so that the current division means that there is only such a weak current for each relay that the armature is probably in the held in the attracted position, but can not be attracted from the rest position.
The switching relay P1 now switches the four lines by closing its contacts pi, a, b, d, e

start traffic, u. without the telegraphing impulses now given, which are of the same type as the dialing impulses, influencing the voters. This is achieved in that the relay Qi via the closed contact p, f, lines o and e and the relay Q3 via. the winding of the relay P1 is excited, whereby its contacts ql and q3 switch off the switching magnets Hi and H3 of the selector 1 imid 3 from the lines a, b of the subscribers in traffic.
After the traffic has ended, an alternating current of z. B. 50 Hertz generated by a device not shown, sent into the line a, b of the subscriber 1, so that this is constantly on this

are de-excited and H is put back on lines a, b, so that the initial state is restored.
Fig. 2 shows schematically a relay arrangement in which the reset device of the loaded selector is triggered by using the wrong rest position. In it, W means the winding of a telegraph receiving relay with the normally open contact a and the normally closed contact r. Both contacts are led to one pole each of a battery B, the center of which is grounded. The armature of the relay is alternately connected to the normally open and normally closed contact by means of telegraphing pulses. that a stream of alternating direction is closed in a known manner. The normally open contact a on which the relay is located during the "wrong" rest position is bridged by the winding of a delay relay V.
The delay relay, whose contacts (not shown) control a preselector and the triggering device of further selectors in a known manner, is therefore short-circuited when the receiving relay W is in the "wrong" rest position. When the receiving relay is energized, its armature attaches itself to the real normally closed contact r, whereby the delay relay is attached to battery B and is excited. Its contacts close the preselector circuit and also keep it closed because of the delay effect when the armature oscillates between contacts a and r. After completing the area code, the subscriber can continue dialing with his number set and then telegraph. If the transmission is finished and the participant gives z.
B. by switching off its motor, the short-circuit current in the line, the armature of the relay W is finally and for a long time placed on contact a in the wrong rest position, so that by dropping the delay relay contacts, the voters are returned to the starting position and the connection is separated.
