<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

In

Device for synchronizing and connecting alternators in parallel.
It is known to synchronize and parallel connection of alternators to an existing network to use devices in which the stator or the rotor of a double-fed motor is connected to the network, and one of the two to the terminals of the power generator to be connected in parallel to the network in Connection. The rotor of this motor is known to turn

or smaller than that of the network. The rotor rotation is used to mechanically adjust the speed controller of the drive machine of the power generator as a function of the frequency difference. This device requires motors with a larger line, the rotors and stators of which have to be fed in three phases.
The subject of the invention is a device for synchronizing and parallel connection of alternating current networks or generators using a double-fed motor as a coupling element, the rotor of which according to the invention actuates a contact device located in the circuit of the speed adjustment motor for the drive machine of the power generator to be closed, which changes the excitation or armature voltage of the motor and reverses its direction. With this arrangement, the engine output can be reduced significantly; the contact device can be designed in such a way that the speed adjustment motor is influenced either periodically or continuously. A synchronoscope can be used as the drive means for the contact device, the rotor of which is three-phase, but the stator is only fed in one phase, or vice versa.
With the device according to the invention it is achieved that the speed of the speed adjusting motor increases with the increasing deviation of the frequencies of the networks or machines to be coupled, but is equal to zero if the frequencies match.
In the drawing, some embodiments of the invention are shown, u. Between Fig. 1 shows a device for periodically influencing a speed adjusting motor, Fig. 2 shows a permanent influencing of the same with the aid of a high-speed regulator with rolling sector regulating contacts, and Fig. 3 shows the use of a centrifugal switch driven by the rotor of a synchronoscope in conjunction with a reversing switch.
In the example according to FIG. 1, a and b denote the two alternating current networks to be connected in parallel, e the synchronoscope, the rotor of which is fed in three phases from the network b and the stator of which is fed in one phase from the network a. d is the speed controller of the generator's prime mover for the network to be shut down, e.g. B. b, which is adjusted by the motor e. The latter has two excitations for clockwise and anticlockwise rotation, which are controlled by the contact device t, which is actuated by the stop lever n from the shaft of the rotor of the synchronoscope c. The contact apparatus consists of the contact levers g, h coupled to one another, the mating contacts i, k of which are provided with holding magnets.
The contact closure is accelerated by the attraction force of the holding magnets, whereby the contacts are opened abruptly when the contact apparatus is returned to the center position by the return springs m due to the adhesive force of the permanent magnets. In the event of frequency deviations between networks a and b, the rotor of the synchronoscope will perform a rotary movement in one direction or the other, bringing contact g or h into contact with counter-contacts i, k. As a result, the adjusting motor e in one way or another
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Senses excited and the speed controller adjusted.
As soon as the stop lever n has passed the cam on the contact device, it is returned to the central position. The actuation of the speed adjustment motor takes place here so that when the frequency coincidence of the two networks approaches, a change in speed occurs only intermittently with pauses in between. The drive machine is given time to adapt to the value given by the adjustment before a new adjustment takes place. In order to prevent the contact device from oscillating and thus a rapid succession of speed adjustments in the event of large frequency deviations, damping is provided for the return of the contact device.
In addition, the fixed mating contacts i, k are equipped with holding magnets z, which can be either permanent magnets or electromagnets. In the example, the damping consists of the disc o influenced by brake magnets, which is coupled to the contact apparatus through the coupling element p, which comprises a pin on the disc.
The interaction of the holding magnets, which delay the dropping of the contacts, and the damping, which dampens the return speed of the contacts to the central position, ensures that the contact device can no longer be returned to the central position in the event of rapid successive contact with large frequency deviations, so that permanent contact is made and as a result the variable speed motor is switched on continuously. With the help of this device it is possible to make the actuation duration and speed of the speed adjustment motor adjustable as a function of the frequency difference. Instead of the two-armed contact apparatus, a one-armed contact device with double contact can also be used.
Instead of influencing the entire circuit of the speed adjustment motor through the rotor of the synchronous motor with the help of the contact apparatus, the excitation can also be kept constant according to FIG. 2 and the voltage direction at the terminals of the motor can be reversed. From the rotor

driven in a known manner, by which, depending on the position of the rolling sectors in relation to the control resistors, the direction of the voltage at the terminals of the speed adjustment motor e is changed as a function of the frequency difference between the networks to be connected in parallel. Here, m is again the return spring of the contact apparatus in the middle position and o, p is the damping.
The regulation of the speed of the speed adjustment motor can also, as shown in FIG. 3, as a function of a centrifugal switch actuated by the rotor of the synchronoscope c, e.g. B. a liquid switch s with a floating contact lever t, which controls a resistance w in the excitation circuit, with one from influencing the direction of rotation of the adjusting motor
Rotor driven rotation reverser u is required in the circuit of the adjusting motor. In
Depending on the frequency deviation, the resistor w is switched on or off, if it is greater
Frequency deviation short-circuited, so that in this way the speed of the adjusting motor is brought back as a function of the frequency deviation.
If necessary, a slip clutch can be switched on between the rotor shaft of the syncronoscope and the direction switch.
