Process for the production of hollow castings in permanent molds.

According to the master patent no. 117528, a certain weight ratio must exist between the core and the casting in order for the process to be successful. It must therefore be the amount of pouring used
 EMI1.1
whose Avssen and internal dimensions are prescribed, e.g. B. for standardized pipes, not always z-i. The core filling the cavity would exceed the calculated gas weight ratio; The consequence would be that the metal des Korês is not brought to the temperature by the cast iron at which the core metal assumes an aggregate state at which it can be displaced. Because only if the core metal in the M8sse as the casting contracts, can escape at the core marks, the hollow casting will not burst.

To enable. ng the production of hollow casts, in which, for structural reasons, it is not possible to maintain the correct weight ratio between the cast and solid metal core, a combined core is used according to the present invention. In this case, the core consists of the actual metal core, which in the correct wall
 EMI1.2
Elongated cylindrical metal cores, especially those for pouring cast-iron sleeves or flanged pipes, are used according to the present invention, rolled up pipe shells made of sheet metal or similar plate-shaped materials, the longitudinal edges of which overlap and therefore yield elastically. Such a pipe jacket is inserted into the permanent core mold as a core for the production of the metal core and then cast.

The solidifying metal compresses the pipe jacket a little. The metal core produced in this way is now placed in the permanent mold of the casting to produce the hollow casting, whereupon the casting can take place. To melt out the core metal, if this immediately follows the pouring of the hollow casting, a small amount of heat is supplied, whereby the pipe jacket, if its manufacturing material was chosen for permanent purposes, can be pulled out of the hollow casting after the core metal has melted out.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Process for the production of hollow castings in permanent molds by means of metal cores to be subsequently melted out according to patent no. 117528, characterized in that a combined core consisting of a metal core that is in the correct one to maintain the correct weight ratio between core and casting Wall thickness is poured onto a core support as a cover, is used.
