Gegenstand der Erfindung sind aus Glasröhre hergestellte Buchstaben, die mit Edelgas gefüllt sind und bei Hindurchleiten eines hochfrequenten Stromes aufleuchten.
Die einzelnen Buchstaben sind ähnlich einer Glühlampe auf kleine Sockel montiert und können daher zu beliebigen Worten und Sätzen in einer entsprechenden Langschienenfassung aneinandergereiht werden.
Vorliegende Erfindung unterscheidet sich von den bisher bekannten Vorrichtungen dieser Art dadurch, dass nur eine Elektrode eingeschmolzen ist und der Gegenpol als ein metallischer Belag auf der rückwärtigen Aussenwand der Buchstaben aufgelegt ist.
Durch diese Anordnung und Form findet eine kapazitive Aufladung des Aussenbelages der einzelnen Buchstaben bei Parallelschaltung statt, die den Leuchteffekt im Innern der Buchstaben hervorbringt, ohne dass wie bei den bereits bekannten Einrichtungen mit je zwei eingeschmolzenen Elektroden sich die Spannung mit der Zahl der hintereinandergeschalteten Buchstaben multipliziert.

1. Gasgefülltes Leuchtrohr in Buchstabenform, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass nur eine Elektrode in der Röhre eingeschmolzen ist und die zweite Elektrode durch einen auf der rückwärtigen Aussenseite des Buchstabenrohres festanliegenden Metallbelag gebildet wird.
