<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Central lubrication system with air or oil drive.
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 1 shows schematically such a Sehmieranlage with air linkage, Fig. 2 shows a detail of the same in section, Fig. 3 shows a system according to Fig. 1 with several oil distribution devices, Figs. 4 and 5 show an oil distribution device in view and section. 6 shows an oil distribution apparatus in section, in which the compressed air itself is also used to convey the oil through the lubrication lines to the lubrication points. FIG. 7 shows the implementation of a pressure rod for actuating an oil distribution apparatus according to FIG. 6.
In the schematic representation according to FIG. 1, 1 denotes an air pressure line which leads to the holding unit 2 which is easily and clearly attached to the machine. This consists essentially of a closing element 3, by means of which compressed air can be fed into the line 4 at any time, whereby the connected oil distribution apparatus 5 is actuated. The lubrication points 7 are connected to the oil distribution apparatus 5 by short pipes 6.
In Fig. 3, the same lubrication system is shown as in Fig. 1, only the compressed air line 4 branches in it in as many lines as oil distribution apparatuses 5 are set up distributed on the machine. All oil distribution devices can be operated simultaneously by the switching device 2. An oil distribution apparatus such as can be used in such a centralized lubrication system is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. It consists essentially of an oil container 8 which has a piston 9 for each lubrication point. The pistons 9 are ground into cylinder bodies M. Each carries a head H, which in turn is fitted in a slightly sealing manner into a bore in the cylinder body coaxial with the cylinder bore.
The piston 9 is always held in its maximum position by a spring 12.
Through the bore 15, the working space under the piston 9 fills with oil from the oil container 5. Flows into space 13 from space 14, which is temporarily pressurized through line 4

measured.
For the sake of simplicity, a cock is shown in FIG. 1 as a shut-off device 3 in the holding device 2. However, a valve, a slide or the like can easily be used there.
In order to depressurise the line 4 again after actuation of the shut-off element 3, as shown in FIG. 2, the shut-off element is designed so that in the closing position the line 4 is in connection with the outside air through a bore 36, while this connection is interrupted is when the shut-off device 3 is brought into that position in which compressed air is to flow from the line 1 into the line 4.
Another embodiment of an oil distribution apparatus is shown in FIG. A piston 17 is ground into a bore in the oil reservoir 8 and has as many grooves 20 as there are lubrication points to be connected to the box. The piston 17 is always pressed to the left in its rest position by a spring 18. In this position the grooves 20 made in the piston coincide with the bores 21 through which oil flows from the box 8 into the grooves 20 and fills them completely. By opening the shut-off device 3, compressed air is now temporarily passed through the pipe 4 into the space 19. The piston 17 is thereby after overcoming the tension of the spring. M pushed to the right into the position shown.
As a result, the grooves 20 are aligned with the bores 22, through which compressed air flows from the space 23, which is in communication with the space 19 through the channel 26, into the grooves 20, and the oil located there flows through the bores 24 into the lubrication lines 6 blows.
The displacement of the piston! ? ' can also be done in both directions by air pressure.
The spring 18 is then omitted and pressure is alternately applied to each side of the piston 17 by a correspondingly designed switching device 2. Immediately behind the lubrication tube connections, holes 25 leading from the inside of the lubrication channel to the outside are provided so that the compressed air can relax out of the lubrication tube while the oil continues to flow into the lubrication tube 6 and thus reach the lubrication point. The oil distribution devices can be used to allocate different amounts of lubricant to the lubrication points using appropriate structural means.
Is z. For example, if the stop 47 in FIG. 4 is set up to be adjustable, an amount of oil corresponding to its requirement per stroke of the piston 9 can be set for each lubrication point. Likewise, z. B. by different widths of the grooves 20 in the piston 17 of FIG. 6 of each lubrication point, depending on the needs, different amounts of oil are supplied each time the piston 17 is actuated.
As shown in FIG. 7, for example, the piston 17 can also be actuated by an oil pressure linkage. The connection 26 between the space 19 and the space 23 is then omitted in the oil distribution apparatus. The space 23 is connected to a compressed air line 27; the oil pressure linkage consists essentially of an apparatus which contains a piston 28 ground in a housing 29. The working cylinder space 30 is connected to an oil tank 32 through a bore 31. By means of a spring 34, the lever 35 actuating the piston 28 is always in its left-hand position
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Maintained position so that the piston exposes the bore 31 and oil can flow from the container 32 through the hole 31 into the space 30 and the line 4.
If the lever 35 is pressed down by hand while overcoming the spring force of the spring 34, the oil sealed off between the piston 28 and the piston 17 of the oil distribution apparatus will form a rigid connection which causes the piston 17 in the oil distribution apparatus according to FIG is moved to the right. The operation of the oil distribution device is the same as described above.
Oil distribution apparatus according to FIGS. 4 and 5 are also suitable in the same way for being operated with pressurized oil. Instead of compressed air, Druekol is temporarily let into the space, so that the pistons H and thereby also the delivery pistons 9 are actuated by oil pressure. In order to be able to oil similar groups of lubrication points independently of one another, the oil distribution boxes to which they are connected can be operated collectively from a Sehalteinriehtung 2 and several such switching devices 2 can be assembled into a single one. The individual closing organs 3 are then each by hand pressed off.
Likewise, several oil pressure linkages, with which groups of oil distribution devices can be operated, combine to form a single switching device with several hand levers 35 and pistons 28.
In addition, the actuation of the closing organs 3 or the levers 35 of the pressure oil linkage can be carried out periodically by eccentrics, levers or cams, depending on the gear of the machine, which also eliminates manual operation of such lubrication systems and a particularly high level of operational reliability is achieved with the most economical oil consumption.
If changing air or oil pressure is available, it can be actuated automatically without a special holding device 2 by supplying it to the oil distribution apparatus.
PATENT CLAIMS:
