In Fig. 1, this auxiliary voltage source is not connected in series, but in parallel with coil b and thus also with the other coils b1 and with the capacitance g. In order to bring about the parallel connection, either a special transformer A can be used or the coil b can also be used as the one coil of this transformer. The current and voltage of the auxiliary voltage source c are the current or
The voltage coil of a measuring instrument i is supplied, which measures either the reactive component of the impedance formed from these two quantities or, better still, the reactive component of the admittance formed from these two quantities in a manner known per se. The latter reactive component - the susceptibility value of the entire devices formed from the capacitance g and the chokes bund bl - disappears when the degree of compensation is equal to 1 and, if this is not the case, provides a direct measure for the coil power still to be connected or withheld. The instrument that measures susceptibility can e.g. B. be formed according to the cross coil type and then consists in a known manner of two movable and one fixed coil.
One moving coil o is traversed by the current from the auxiliary generator e, the second moving coil p is in series with the fixed coil r and a resistance compensation q that performs a displacement of 900 at the terminals of the machine e. The deflection of this instrument is proportional to the susceptance sin'c.
It is useful that the measuring device is protected from the voltage that now appears when operating a ground fault in any known way. For example, you can switch off the auxiliary voltage source and measuring instruments by the circuit breaker m, which is triggered by the response of an overvoltage relay (not shown) connected to the zero point voltage.
