Device for the operation of electrical power generation plants with several locally separated power plants.
The main patent describes a device for operating electrical power generation systems with unmanned auxiliary power plants that are locally separated from a main power plant and whose synchromeshes are switched to the network by means of a special parallel holding device, generating speed fluctuations around the synchronism.
This particular parallel switching device works automatically according to the exemplary embodiment of the main patent and is located in the secondary power plant itself. In order to save an automatic parallel switching device for the secondary power plant, the parallel holding device is relocated to the main power plant in a manner known per se. There is already enough trained operating personnel there who can carry out the parallel connection of the synchronous machines of the auxiliary power plants.
A further saving can be achieved according to the invention by providing only a single parallel switching device in the main plant when there are several auxiliary power plants, which can be switched over to the various auxiliary plants there. In this case, it may again be useful or desirable to relieve the operating personnel of the parallel switching work and to set up an automatic device so that the operator only has to switch to the respective plant to be connected while the parallel switching takes place automatically. After the parallel connection has taken place, the speed fluctuations naturally stop by themselves, since the electrical machine of the auxiliary power plant runs synchronously with the mains frequency.
Instead of using a special tachometer dynamo to generate the speed swings before the synchronization, as in the embodiment of the main patent, the centrifugal governor of the primary machine itself can be used to produce the swings according to the invention.
Such a device is shown in the drawing. Here 24 means the hydraulic servomotor of the turbine of the auxiliary power plant 1, which is influenced by the centrifugal governor 23. The generator 10 is connected to the trunk line 1 via the transformer 32 and the switch 18; it is coupled to the self-excited exciter 11. As in the exemplary embodiment of the main patent, the fixed point of the adjusting lever 27 of the controller 23 lies on a traveling nut, the spindle 26 of which is driven by the motor 22 via an intermediate gear 25. This is controlled by a relay 21, which is equipped with the four changeover contacts 33 for the motor 22, the self-holding contact 34 and a further contact 35 for controlling the timing relay 36.
The switchover relay 21 is controlled by limit switch contacts 37, 38 on the sleeve of the controller 23, which correspond to the limit speeds of the machine group.

If, for example, the power plant 1 is to be switched on, which is already in operation and connected to the long-distance line 1 by closing the switch 18, the attendant in the main plant H sets the switch 40 to the long-distance line 1 and observes the oscillation of the syncronoscope 39 If the oscillations are slow enough, it switches on switch 41 when it crosses zero.
As in the example of the main patent, the speed fluctuations of the turbine are caused by the motor 22, which is reversed at the upper and lower limit speed of the turbine by the contacts 37 and 38 on the controller 23. If the relay 21 is de-energized, as in the drawing, the motor 22 drives the helical gear 26 in the sense of a greater loading and therefore an acceleration of the turbine; the regulator sleeve rises until it closes contact 37 when the upper limit speed is reached. As a result, the relay 21 is energized and controls the motor 22 so that it now influences the controller 23 in the sense of reducing the turbine speed. The opening contact 37 is bridged by the contact 34.
At the lower limit speed, the regulator sleeve opens the contact 38, whereby the excitation of the relay 21 is interrupted and the motor 22 is reversed again. The game begins again and continues until the parallel connection in the main plant has taken place by closing switch 41.
Now the speed of the machine is kept constant from the mains and the oscillations stop. If, at the moment of the parallel connection, the motor 22 is running in the direction of increasing the power supply, that is to say if the relay 21 is de-energized, the motor 22 is finally switched off by the limit switch 28; the fuel is supplied to the prime mover in sufficient quantities and is only throttled by the controller as required. If, on the other hand, the motor 22 rotates in the closing direction of the turbine at the moment of parallel switching, the water inflow would ultimately remain completely or partially blocked and the machine would not be able to load itself.
In order to avoid this and to ensure the correct loading of the turbine in all cases, the timing relay 36, which also starts to run every time the switchover relay 21 responds, interrupts the circuit of the after a time which is slightly greater than that of a speed oscillation of the turbine Relay 21 so that the motor 22 sets the regulator sleeve 23 in any case in the open position; then the fuel supply to the turbine increases and the machine 10 can be loaded.
