Die Erfindung betrifft ein einfaches und daher wirtschaftliches Verfahren zur Herstellung solcher Streifen aus Pappe od. dgl. Das Verfahren besteht darin, dass ein Band a z. B. aus Zellstoff-oder Lederpappe und von beliebiger Breite durch eine Presse hindurchgeführt wird, in der das Band mittels eines entsprechend gestalteten Stanzwerkzeuges (Schnitt und Stanze) längsweise in mehrere Streifen b von der. gewünschten Stäbchenlänge entsprechender Breite so zerlegt wird, dass an den Rändern der benachbarten Streifen ineinandergreifende Zähne und Ausschnitte c entstehen, welche bei jedem Streifen in an sich bekannter Weise versetzt zueinander liegen und die Anbringung von Zündköpfen d ermöglichen. Die Ausschnitte c sind so gross, dass die Zündköpfe b einander nicht berühren.

Diese fallen entweder in einen Sammelbehälter oder werden in einer unmittelbar an die Zündhölzerherstellungsmaschine angebauten Schachtelfüllmaschine selbsttätig in Schachteln oder in andere Packungen gefüllt.
Sollen die Zündhölzer mit Reklame bedruckt sein, so wird das Pappeband a durch eine Druckvorrichtung geführt, ehe es zur Zerteilvorrichtung gelangt.
