Bottich.

Vat.
There are vats, especially known for bleaching and dyeing purposes, made of reinforced cement in which a wooden vat is embedded. This design increases the crack resistance of the outer concrete layers, on the other hand, the cooking liquid reaches the embedded wooden tub through the cracks that develop in the inner concrete layer over time, so that when changing the fat liquor, the tub has to be washed out thoroughly and laboriously.
It is also known to make vats from acid-resistant, glazed plates made of ceramic material, which are sealed against one another by a fold and groove and are held together by a cover made of wood or concrete. These tubs have the disadvantage that there is no bond of the required strength between their inner part and the cladding part and, moreover, the production of the inventory from glazed ceramic plates is associated with considerable costs.
If the outer shell is made of cement, it is adversely affected by sudden changes in temperature; if it is made of wood, the slightest disruption of the sealing and fitting together of the plates forming the inner tub makes it necessary to wash the tub when changing the paint liquor.
EMI1.1
Sealed and matched plates, which form the inner lining of the tub, are made of pressed glass and are connected to a concrete casing by anchoring iron, in which
EMI1.2
is acid-resistant and its central concrete jacket is protected against harmful temperature influences that can cause cracks to form by the inner lining and the outer wooden jacket.
In addition, provision has been made to arrange thermal insulation chambers between the inner lining and the middle concrete jacket in such a way that the pressed glass plates of the inner lining are provided with recesses on their outside, which are advantageously sealed airtight with glass plates at an elevated temperature before being encased with concrete .
In the drawing, an embodiment of the tub is shown in section.
The tub consists of the hard glass plates 1, which fit together in a known manner by groove 2 and fold 3 with a sealing compound 4 in between. The plates 1 are manufactured so that
EMI1.3
a pane of glass 5 is sealed airtight with the interposition of a sealing compound 6.
The cavity formed in this way forms an insulating layer against the adjacent concrete 7,
EMI1.4
The plates 1 have anchor irons 9 which are embedded in the concrete 7. Fer Beton 7 has an outer shell made of wood 10, which is held in place by screws 11 anchored in the concrete.
