(Fig. 2)

Automatic adjustment grooving for rollers u. like
In order to obtain continuously rolled stock of the same thickness, it is necessary to use the rolled stock very often. measure with the micrometer and readjust the rollers according to the measurement results.
This drawback is eliminated by the invention in that an automatic sewing device is provided which has one or more switching devices actuated by the rolled material that close or open circuits, whereby control elements for readjusting the rollers are activated. According to the invention, these switching devices influence weak current circuits. It is only from these weak circuits that high-voltage circuits for actuating the adjustment mechanism are switched on or off.
For a more detailed explanation of the subject of the invention, an embodiment of the device is illustrated in the drawing. FIG. 1 shows a representation of the holding device, FIG. 2 shows a circuit diagram of the arrangement and FIG. 3 finally shows a schematic representation of the roller stand including the adjustment mechanism.

can be pivoted about the axis 2 ′ and is firmly connected to the disk 3. The second disk 4 is arranged in its own frame 4 ′ and is set at such a distance from the disk 3 that the space formed by the two disks is equal to the desired thickness of the rolling stock. The two disks 3 and 4 are pressed against each other by a spring 5. The lever 2 has a contact 6 which moves with the lever 2 between the two contact points 7 and 8.
Lines 16 ′ lead from the contact points 7 and 8 to the switching device. The contact 6 is in a conductive connection with the terminals 12 through the lever 2 and the interruption arrangement 17. From terminals 12,

set 7 and 8 rest on coil springs 9, u. between the bores of screws 10 and 11. These screws are also isolated from the other switching devices.
The mode of operation of the device according to the invention is as follows: The two disks 4 and 4 are set in such a way that the distance between the disks is equal to the thickness of the material to be rolled. The workpieces coming out of the roller must be guided between these discs. In the event that the thickness of the rolled product exceeds the desired mass, for example as a result of a somewhat larger roller spacing, such as that caused by bearing wear or other mechanical influences. the lever 2 connected to the disc 3 is moved a little downwards. While the contact 6 is located between the two contact points 7 and 8 in the rest state of the lever 2, but without touching them, the contacts 6 and 7 will touch at the moment of a lever movement downwards.
As a result, a weak circuit is closed in the following way: From the line 16 ′ leading out of the screw 11, the current goes via the lever holder 1 to be operated manually (FIG. 2)

the armature 18 is attracted and thereby the mercury switch 24 is rotated clockwise. In this switch, a conductive liquid bridge is now formed between the connection pieces of lines 19 and 21, whereby high-voltage current is switched on. The solenoid winding 23 'is now connected to the high-voltage network 22 and attracts the solenoid core 25. The switch 27 is now turned in such a way that the armature winding 29 is excited by the current.
The armature 31 attracted by this winding engages the clutch 33 'by means of the lever 32' so that the movement of the motor shaft 34 is effected by the gearwheel 36 ', the shaft 35' and the worm drive. 37 (Fig. 3) is transferred to the roll stand spindle 3S.
In the opposite case, namely if the rolled material does not reach the desired thickness, the lever 2 is pressed upwards by the spring 5 and a contact is made between the contacts 6 and 8 as a result. In this case the current of the battery 15 will pass through the solenoid winding 14 'and the attracted solenoid core M' will turn the mercury switch 24 again. The winding 23 through which the heavy current flows is rotated by the armature 26, the motor switch 27 from the rest position in the opposite direction. The now switched on winding 28 now energizes the armature 30 and the lever 32 moved by this armature engages the clutch 33 again and causes a movement

Kegerlwheels and the shafts 35, 35 'disengaged.
In the event of a roll shift, the lever operated by the armature engages clutches and thereby transmits the motor movement to the shaft or 35 ′. Sometimes it can also suffice to provide only one contact device, in which case both stator spindles are moved simultaneously and in the same direction. By operating the switch 27, which can also be operated by hand, the rollers can possibly be set in the desired manner by the electrically controlled mechanism.
However, it can sometimes be advantageous to influence the excitation windings 28, 28 'directly from the mercury holder 24, omitting the windings 2, 3, 23' and the holder 27. Since the two stator spindles usually have to be operated in the same way , the arrangement can also be made such that the motor is switched on or off by the switch 27, the direction of rotation of the motor being changed depending on the switch position. In this case, the motor pinion 34 drives two gears, the movement of which is transmitted to the roll stand spindle by shafts, worm drives or the like. While in the exemplary embodiment the motor is only in motion during the switching period, the arrangement can also be made so that the motor runs continuously.
An arrangement in which the motor movement is influenced by the switching device will also be expedient in cases where only a single switching device is provided.
Instead of a motor with two pinions, a separate motor, i.e. two motors, can also be used for each switching device, in which case the direction of rotation of the motor is also changed by the switching device. Asynchronous motors with Kurxiehl must armatures can also be used as motors, as the working current is very low and the motor is usually started up while idling.
When the rollers are idling, the spring 5 pushes the lever arm 2 upwards and the automatic interruption arrangement 17 interrupts any conductive connection between the switch body and the terminals 12 isolated from it. This means that the adjustment mechanisms remain at rest and any disruptive movement of the rollers is avoided.
As a result of the use of weak current, even in the event of a roll breakage, all dangers arising from the high electrical current are excluded.
