Device for the electrolytic deposition of metals.
The subject of the invention is a device for carrying out the method for the electrolytic deposition of metals according to patent no. 103 469.
While in the device specified in the parent patent a horizontal cathode was used to carry out the process, which was separated from the anode (waste material) by a very fine pore-containing filter, the present embodiment is the known type of a downwardly projecting, suitably rotatable , thorn-like cathode. According to the invention, the diaphragm separating the cathode compartment from the anode compartment is so narrow-pored that it is practically impermeable to liquids. The electrolyte flows inside the diaphragm from bottom to top, whereupon it flows over its edge into the anode compartment and, after being enriched, leaves it at the bottom. The anode compartment may have a lining, e.g.
B. obtained with lead, as it is known per se as an acid protectant. In the present case, however, this lining is conductively connected to the positive pole of the electricity source and to the metallic filling material of the anode space. The invention also extends to embodiments of the electrical

To achieve cells or to prevent the air intake of the electrolyte.
The drawings illustrate an embodiment of the subject invention, u. Between. Fig. 1 shows a system in a schematic representation. 2 and 3 show in section. Top view and cross section of an embodiment of the precipitation vessel.
The system (Fig. 1) consists of the precipitation vessels or cells a. b. the filter device e and the Auffrisehern f. e, through which the electrolyte is conveyed with the aid of a pump f. A pipe g branches off from the freshener P. so that the electrolyte leaving the replenisher does not have to be conveyed into the filtering device c, but can return into the vessel h from which the pump f is fed. A regulating valve l is arranged in the lower part of the branch pipe g. which only opens until a certain liquid level is reached in the branch pipe.
This has the effect that the branch pipe g is completely filled with the electrolyte and the valve opens only when the pressure increases

the amount of electrolyte going after the filter device c is smaller than the amount pumped into the replenisher by the pump t. This is the case when one or more of the precipitation vessels or cells are inactive.
If several electrolysis vessels fed by a filtering device c and a number of refreshers are available and some of the vessels are to be put out of action, although the full amount of electrolyte circulates through the refreshers, only part of the electrolyte can flow through the filter device to meet the requirements to correspond to the vessels in operation. So only the electrolyte supplied to the electrolyzers is filtered, so that the filtering device is always used in relation to the actually occurring electrolytic precipitation.
The filter device c can be of known type. It expediently consists of a number

Metal waste can also be arranged.
When the plant is in operation, the waste metal or ore is kept at the desired height by temporarily filling up the anode spaces in vessels a and b. To supplement the anode material and for the purpose of cleaning, one of several vessels a and b and refreshers d and e. existing system some of the same are put out of operation.
