EMI1.1

Drive for electric vehicles.
There are known drives for electric vehicles with axle box motors, in which two opposite motors work on a common back gear and are connected with paw bearings, e.g. B. based on the drive axis. This arrangement has the advantage that it compensates the tooth pressures on the drive axle bearings. : In any case, the struggle against the Ta'zenlager makes difficulties. As a rule, it is not possible to use existing motor types with a symmetrical bearing arrangement intended for a single-motor final drive in the specified manner, because the paw bearings are in each other's way if you want to bring both motors close enough to the transmission plane.
Therefore, at least the motor housing must be specially made with axle bearings cast in a special, asymmetrical arrangement. Furthermore, the axle bearings lying next to one another can often not be designed with sufficient length and one is then forced to make the axle bearings of both motors concentrically overlapping one another.
The invention avoids the aforementioned inconveniences in a simple manner. It consists in the fact that with drives with axle bearing motors, these are arranged on different sides of the front gear plane.
This makes it possible to use motors with the usual symmetrically constructed housing, which can also be used for single-motor drives; In addition, the camps are easily accessible and can be listed for a long enough period.
Fig. 1 of the drawing shows the view, Fig. 2 shows the floor plan of an embodiment of the invention with two motors. It means a the drive axis, b and c the motors arranged at the level of the drive axis, which are mounted on it with the paw pads d and e. The optional suspension of the motors on the vehicle frame is not shown. f and g are the gear wheels attached to the motor shafts, which work together on the gear wheel h connected to the drive shaft.
In order to protect such gear back gears with several mutually movable drive gears, a new form of dustproof and splash-proof protective case is proposed which enables the gears seated on the motor shafts to pivot about the countershaft to the required extent.
According to the invention, the protective box consists of two movably nested parts.
EMI1.1
Protective box consists of two matching halves i, k, possibly specially sealed, each of which includes a motor shaft and is supported on the drive axis a with suitably semicircular cutouts on its side walls. Each half is therefore rotatable both with respect to the associated motor shaft and with respect to the drive axis. Each box half expediently consists of two parts screwed together and comprises its motor shaft l 'or. s in the manner of a two-part bearing. As can be seen from the figure, their parting line is advantageously in the plane defined by the shaft means.
