<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The present invention relates to a method for coating surfaces, in particular surfaces of support elements, such as new or used concrete formwork elements, in which a plastic-based coating agent is applied and cured to these surfaces, and objects with surfaces coated in this way.
Concrete formwork elements are primarily to be understood as formwork panels made of wood, metal (Al) or plastic, in many cases multi-layer wood panels are used which can be resized on the spot if required and which have the advantage that they can be nailed through, so that they can be nailed through Surface profile can be changed at any time. As a result, and also due to adhering concrete, their surfaces are damaged, and it is necessary at short or shorter intervals to replace and dispose of used wooden formwork panels, or to subject them to a multi-stage regeneration in order to make them usable again as formwork elements. With this regeneration, the wooden formwork panel was previously degreased, then the supporting or
The guide surface is sanded to remove any adhering concrete residues, then the surface defects are filled or cemented, sanded again to get the smoothest possible surface and finally, for example, a solvent-based polyurethane coating agent is applied, which hardens due to air humidity, which is only possible with layer thicknesses of up to is a maximum of 100 m.
The object was to avoid these disadvantages and to create a process by which the filling in of surface defects and regrinding before a new coating or first coating becomes superfluous. The prerequisite for this is that the coating does not shrink and that the coating agent has the property of surface defects which also penetrate the bodies having the surfaces
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
can penetrate and this fromLufGllèn owjè eir. e to form a flat coating so that a single coating is sufficient.
These prerequisites are met by the method according to the invention, which is characterized in that, optionally after a pre-cleaning and / or priming of the surfaces, a coating agent is applied and cured or allowed to harden, which is a solvent-free, liquid binder based on curable polymers and / or Prepolymers, preferably a mineral filler, preferably a mineral oil component acting as a matting agent and / or plasticizer, and optionally a hardener and optionally conventional auxiliaries, such as wetting agents, defoamers, anti-settling agents, pigments or
Like. Contains, the polymers and the concentration of the preferably used mineral oil component so chosen and the viscosity and surface tension of the binder and the oil number and specific surface area of the filler are kept so low that when hardening, in particular at an ambient temperature of from -10 ° C. to +60 C, preferably in the range from +15 C to +30 C, particularly preferably in the range from +20 C to +30 C, a self-leveled, surface defect-filling, elastic coating with a matt surface is obtained.
In this context, “solvent-free” is to be understood to mean that only such a low solvent content can be tolerated that there is no shrinking of the pores and no harmful pores in the finished coating.
A high filler load is particularly sought for cost reasons - this is achieved by fillers with a low oil number and a low specific surface; self-leveling of the coating and high penetration into and wetting of the surface - this is achieved through low viscosity and above all low surface tension of the binder. The preferably used mineral oil component is used as a matting agent and / or plasticizer, depending
EMI2.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The type and the mixing ratio of the powder or prepolymer in the binder can also be controlled by its viscosity and the properties of the finished coating.
"Liquid" means that the binder has a consistency that results in a flowable coating agent when applied. For this purpose, the liquid binder can also be in thixotropic form.
The time required for curing depends on the formulation of the coating agent used and, if a hardener is used, on the prevailing outside temperature. It is switched off in such a way that a self-curing coating can be used after 24 hours at the longest. H. is resilient. The coating can be quickly and easily applied to used and new formwork elements by unskilled personnel.
In some cases, it will be necessary to clean the surfaces, apart from removing concrete residues, before applying the coating agent. This is done by ablation on the surfaces, in the simplest case surface deposits being rinsed off with water, which expediently contains a conventional wetting agent on fat surfaces.
A fluorosurfactant, in particular based on perfluorocarboxylic acid or perfluorosulfonic acid, is preferably used as the wetting agent for the coating agent.
In the course of the pre-cleaning, grooves or other depressions can optionally be formed on the surfaces, which serve to anchor the coating.
Before applying the coating, it may be advantageous to prime the surfaces, for which purpose preferably solvent-free binder is preferably used.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
If possible from the chemistry of the binders, it is preferred to use a polyamino amide compound as hardener. This has the surprising advantage that when a mineral oil component is used as a matting agent and / or plasticizer, the excess mineral oil component bled out when the coating hardens is converted by the hardener into a water-soluble or water-emulsifiable form, which is washable or, so to speak, removes itself on contact with concrete mortar. This helps to ensure that the concrete surface has a desired matt surface after stripping.
The following binder systems are preferably used: 1) epoxy resin, partially blocked isocyanate, with hardener (e.g. polyaminoamide), 2) epoxy resin / flexibilizer (polysulfide or urea condensate), with hardener (e.g.
Polyaminoamide), 3) differently crosslinked polyols with hardener (e.g. isocyanate), 4) differently crosslinked polyols / isocyanate / liquid KW resin with catalyst, 5) polymethacrylate / PVC-modified polymethacrylate with hardener (e.g. peroxide) , 6) unsaturated polyester resin / PVC modified polyester resin, with hardener (e.g.
B. peroxide).

According to the present invention, the flowable coating agent is expediently used in a conventional manner, eg. B. by pouring, brushing, application by means of roller, spatula or spraying, preferably airless spraying, applied to the surfaces.
Normally, the ambient conditions on site are sufficient to harden the coating agent into a coating by means of a hardener component which is added to the binder within a time which is acceptable in practice.

UV and / or electron radiation All components of the coating agent are common commercial products that are offered by various manufacturers under brand names, whereby the exact composition of these commercial products - especially the resins - is usually not specified by the manufacturer, but only the chemical basis and the Intended use.
For example, in addition to the preferably used polyaminoamides, in particular polyoxypropyleneaminoamides, and their adducts, polyamines, polyamides and their adducts are known and suitable as hardeners for bisphenol epoxy resins.
Suitable flexibilizers and liquid extenders are, for example, aromatic alcohols, nonylphenol, phthalates or phthalic esters, hydrocarbon resins, coumarone resins, coumarone indene resins, tar and mineral oil products, polysulfides, polyether amines, blocked polyurethanes.
Mono-, di- or triepoxide compounds are particularly suitable as reactive diluents.
In addition to the polyether and polyester polyols, polytetramethylene glycol (PTMG) or polyacrylates with OH groups are particularly suitable as polyol components.
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
In addition to diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), trimethylhexamethylene diisocyanate (TMDI) and polymethylene polyphenyl isocyanate (PAPI) are preferred as isocyanate hardeners for the polyols.
Mineral fillers, e.g. Talc, plastorite or heavy spar, preferred, but also e.g. B. hollow microspheres, also made of plastic, and organic fillers such. B. wood or coconut flour. The grain size should not exceed 100 11m, the oil number should not exceed 30.
The commercial products Trigonal 14 and Irgacure 261 are mentioned as examples of known photoinitiators.
The present invention also relates to a support or guide element, in particular concrete formwork element, in particular made of wood, metal or plastic, of which at least one surface area, preferably the entire surface, is provided with a coating which was obtained by the process according to the invention.
The coating produced by the process according to the invention is chemically, in particular against alkalis, and mechanically resistant. Therefore, components equipped with such a surface coating can also be used in many other areas, for example in conveyor or transport systems for coal and other mined materials, etc. It is preferred that the coating has a minimum thickness of 0.2 mm, layer thicknesses of 1-5 mm preferred and higher layer thicknesses are possible. According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the coating has a Shore D hardness of 5 to 90, preferably 80, and an elongation at break of 30-80%, measured 7 days after curing, at room temperature.
The support or guide element, in particular a wooden formwork panel, can advantageously also be of a multi-layer design.
