Gekapselte Blitzschutzvorrichtung mit magnetischer Blasung und induktionsfreiem
Widerstand.

Encapsulated lightning protection device with magnetic blowing and induction-free
Resistance.
The invention relates to an encapsulated lightning protection device with magnetic blowing and non-inductive resistance of the type in which one electrode made of silicon or similar material is housed in a bushing insulator. According to the invention, the blow magnet and the counter electrode are also attached to the bushing insulator. This means that the size of the spark gap is made independent of any distortion of the housing.
Until now, the length of the spark gap could be changed by tensioning the housing, as can occur when it is attached to uneven walls. Furthermore, the spark gap has so far been able to be made smaller by the fact that the resistance expands when it absorbs a lot of heat.
According to the present invention, on the other hand, the length of the spark gap is permanently secured.
An induction-free resistor lying parallel to the coil, as was previously used, is missing in the new device, because it has been shown that it makes the device more expensive and worsens the blowing effect. Also has. the well-known silicon resistor without reinforcement as a spark electrode has not proven its worth, because at the over. At the point of impact, the cross-sectional loading of the resistor material is so high that small rows of splinters jump off the resistor and also change the spark gap.
The new lightning protection device is shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing in vertical longitudinal section, in Fig. 2 in view.
A cap 2 made of brass or galvanized iron is cemented on top of the insulator 1, the tightened neck of which is provided with an external thread. A locking nut 3 is screwed onto the thread. This is provided with a concentric clamp 4 at its upper end. Of course, a ring could also be provided at the upper end, by means of which the entire lightning protection device is suspended from an overhead line and connected to it by clamping. A plate spring 5 arranged in the cap 3 presses on the reinforcement of the induction-free resistor 6, for which both Silit and Ocelit can be used. The lower armoring cap of the induction-free resistor rests against a disk or cap 7 cemented into the insulator 1, into which the brass electrode 8 is screwed.
The blowing magnets 9 consist of iron strips. At their upper end they are screwed onto the cast iron body 10, which is cemented onto the insulator 1. The magnetization of the blowing magnets irfvlgt by the coils JH, tel'ho advantageously consist of cotton copper wire. The coil end is attached to a grounded mounting flange 12. Of course, the apparatus could also be hung on a grounded rope and the fastening flange 12 could be connected to voltage. In this case, the vertical fastening tab provided on the flange 12 according to the drawing is omitted, so that the apparatus is given a completely circular cross-section.
The lower ends 15 of the blowing magnets are connected by a brass bridge 14 in which the counter electrode 13 is adjustably attached. The housing-M advantageously consists of a circular bell made of zinc or iron sheet,

Instead of a resistor connected in parallel, the known parallel spark gap is provided.
It consists of the brass rivet 28 and the screw 17 adjustable in the cast ring 10.
